WOOT! Gulf of Oman: Tuesday 19th July. 2300 est

I would like to give three cheers to the mighty fine men of USMC on gulf of oman (server #2: 32 player) tonight (tuesday).

I was commanding and decided to try out the tactics that I discuss in my thread here - http://www.tacticalgamer.com/pr-bf2-tactics-sops/56862-dedicated-roles-squads.html -

After sending orders to the squad leaders about how I would like the squads to be aranged, there were a few moments of chaos as people shuffled squads. They ended up organising themselves into very fine units once it became clear what I wanted. I ended up commanding

    2 Infantry Squads
    Armor Squad
    Special Ops Squad
    Helocopter Gunship Squad
    2 Jet Fighter Squads

I was amazed at the success we saw tonight. The squadleaders performed perfectly. Coordinating attacks with me and one another. The gunship and Jets each on their own dedicated locked squads was truly awesome. As a commander, having a gunship, 2 talented jet pilots and artillery to call in to support the infantry is just awesome.

The three ground squads gave the enemy hell in the two central points while the special ops went to their sneeksy task of keeping the MEC CMR assets shut down as well as cutting bridges and supporting the other ground forces.

The enemy did eventually mount a very effective counter attack but pulling out of their desperate struggle for the central two points, and pealing around behind us to take the beach flags and knock out my arty.

I pulled my units back to the beach and the enemy put up a very strong resistance at the central beach point, but the combined effort of all my squads drove them out.

USMC won the match with a margine of about 200.

Again well done USMC!! Well done each and every one of you!! You all did such a truly fine job that I cannot in fairness name any one or two people as stars of the match. Seriously! Great Job.

As I side note, I would love to hear from the commander and soldiers of the MEC team and find out what their impressions of the match and of the tactics I employed
    are.
    -Nyram (one happy commander)
