Great games tonite everyone. Mashtur twice in a row followed by Karkand. We had on and off commanding on the USMC team, but still managed to pull off some great wins. And lots of intense skirmishes. Especially defending the USMC assets on Mashtur and defending the MEC main base on Karkand. And thanks to my squaddies for their teamwork and (sometimes) patience over the course of the nite. It's great seeing a well-oiled squad defending or taking down targets all nite long. I would like to have seen Sassyone CO instead of the guy that tried to mutiny her though...
GGs everyone and see you on the pw games tomorrow nite.
The second Mashtuur started as a joke since the USMC had all but 1 flag by the time the game got going. Would have been nice if the USMC had given us a sporting chance to begin with, instead of saying stuff like, "Just stop spawning and let us take the flag," and complaining when people would shoot them as they tried to take it. Pshshshsh.. as if!
The initial leader of my squad switched to the USMC side. I guess he didn't have much faith in our team. Jaymind ended up as our SL for most of the round and I think we ended up having fun despite the serious disadvantage we started with
Took us MEC'ers quite a while to get things evened up. I imagine our commander was pretty frustrated since his assets were down most of the game. I think the round ended up 95 - 0 USMC which is rather impressive due to the way the round started.
Must be something funky w/ Sassyone's account because there were several votekicks started against her in the aborted Karkand run. Silly game.
Yeah it started out looking like a blowout but the MEC definitely made a game of it. You guys had us scrambling for the last half of the game. If we didn't get that obnoxious advantage right away, it would've (and should've) been a lot closer.
I was MEC CO for both Mashturs, and even though the second game was really uneven and all I did was sit there and give UVA and supplies since my other assets were down, it was still fun. The first Mashtur was really awesome! Thanks to all squads. =)
Mashtur was still fun regardless of the start, some very intense battles going on there at some of those flags. My squad did and excellent job throughout the entire game, and we were able to make a battle of it.
Karkland turned out to be a nightmare, but again, my squad did another excellent job. Our CO was changing orders ever 5 seconds and mostly fogot about defending the eastern flags. At one point I had to send most of my squad forward while 2 of us stayed back to defend the river. Anyway, the USMC was able to get a foothold on the east and despite some heavy pressure from us, was able to expand on the east, which really caused us to bleed tickets.
It was one of those situations where you know the CO is wrong, but what can you do? Follow orders as best you can and hope for the best.
Again, kudo's to my squad for putting up one hell of a fight on both maps.
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
Things usually unfold faster than...
