Dalan (sp) Plant (2:00am central)

the servers were pretty empty when i got on at 1 *gasp* but 40 on dalan plant was playable, so i jumped in. didn't really feel like joining the only large squad, so i joined up with a sniper squad. we messed around with varying degrees of success, but there just weren't good concentrations of fleshy bodies. anyway, towards the end, i was sprinting across the sunny road area (the place to the west of the middle construction flag). i had just cleared through a small hole in the metal fence and was making my way towards some small houses and the shady mountain side.

it was half way through when to my dismay i heard an apc coming my way! (rhyming bonus +1)

so i made a snap judgement and did what any self respecting sniper does when he is cornered by large armored vehicles.

i laid down prone

acted dead

and prayed

to my dismay my gillie suite did NOT blend in well with the sun baked asphalt and i started thinking of where i would re-spawn next. to my amazement, he didn't open fire, but instead went for the coup de gras e.g. running me over.

i LITERALLY dodged at LEAST 10 road kill attempts of which this behemoth would drive forward, i would align myself dead center and he would roll over me, only to flip it into reverse and try it again. i was just choking up laughing to my squad leader who was a few yards away and although i was clipped once it went on like this for some time. FINALLY he moved back where he could get some rotation in and my poor sniper's body couldn't scoot sideways fast enough

im pretty sure it was icky who was doing the driving but i may be wrong. regardless, it was one of the funniest bf2 experiences i've ever had

Cymba and I had a great time on that map. We had an equal helo in the air on the US side..but because that US chopper is so paper thin, they had the upper hand and we usually lost. THat's the first time I had a challenge in the air! Props to you, DarkViper for your hellfire skills.

You're the first one I've seen to challenge mine. Next time, you better hope you're on the US side, though

Thanks, but I don't know why most people think the missle is hard to control. I have a $10 optical mouse and all you gotta do it just keep the target in the middle of the screen. I noticed you have a better chance to shoot down enemy choppers with the missles if you aim for the tail though, because sometime it just seems like the missle goes straight through the middle hull, well atleast for me it does.

That happened to me multiple times. I swore a few went through the cockpit...and several went through your rotor blades. And the cobra is the thinnest chopper, making it the hardest to take down from head on. Technology was on your side
