Discussion: Battlefield 2 / Battlefield 2 - After Action Reports - Karkand, 10pm Weds (password) - Tempus, the supporting members cost you the match!
Good came, can't believe it came down
the entire teams fight each other from across the river, it was crazy
I was in a tank, and would fire blindly across the river and get like 3 kills

I was sniping on the US side and that game as insane. I think i've finally gotten good enough at sniper to make a difference with it. I think i killed Cymba like three times in 30 seconds . Tempus, your arty strikes always seem to find their way right into my lap. I must have died 10 times because of them.
we pulled out of that so well. too bad i didn't see more action! i was squad leader and just camped the crane for the vast majority of the map. at one time dark viper came under it in a hummer, but alas, pulled away
i ended out with 2 points!
i was almost like a psudo-commander as i was never out of the map. i kept having my awesome squad bring up fodd... er armor to the front.

Good game, can't believe it came down to the time limit.
Awesome support from you tonight. Only ran out once. must have fired 100 AT rounds across the river and only got 6 kills. Almost a stalemate.. Good game to all.
That was just crazy.. Looking at the radar, I would just see columns of players up and down the river.
I ended up with 191 arty kills.

FROM THE TACTICAL GAMER PRIMER.
3) Support game play in a near-simulation environment. Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine.
Great job commanding Tempus. We tried to break through several times, and your coordinated arty drops helped a lot. Switching to defense at the end was a very good call, and we came close to getting it. GG's all around to everyone on Karkand, Sharqi, and Oman. I had a blast, as expected.
How did you MEC guys like that southern beach packed to the ass with claymores! Penguin and I threw down 10 claymore between the two of us. Karkan was nuts I must have been dodging Tempus's rain 'o' death for at least half of the map.
was a good game on the usmc side, although you guys gave up the east side way too easily, I always kinda dread the riverside faceoff, didnt think i did too bad considering i was half asleep :P

That's 11 more kills than AGE had against us.....WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There were 2 things that amazed me the most about playing support last night on Karkand:
1. I was dropping ammo so fast that I had no time to shoot people, you guys were using the ammo THAT fast.
2. Arf and I finished 1-2 on USMC, and we were BOTH support! My squad was right next to Arf's squad...we were both dropping ammo to each others squad and our own, and you guys sucked it down like a sponge in water. I've never seen ammo get used up that fast, incredible! Now I know how one of our guys got 183 points on Karkand against AGE by just dropping ammo.
Tempus had our number with that arty. My squad broke through a couple of times and even capped the NW CP on the East river once, but it didn't last long with nobody spawning on it when it turned.
Good Games.
Likewise for my squad (Beatnick being the SL), breakign through yours a couple of times, taking the middle flag. I took the top one myself, but no one spawned on it (I feel your pain) It's like "dammit, I just killed two humvees protecting this flag, SOMEBODY SPAWN DAMMIT!"
But yeah, those last few minutes came down to the arty. The USMC team had many more people huddled around the shore, so any strike was a goldmine! Dunno what our side was doing half the time, big gaps in the line, other teammates looking the opposite direction when the UAV was blinking red right below them in the water, or crawling up the ramps (pay attention people!)
It really does become an arty/sniper game at the end, and pray you have enuogh medics.
Tempus' messages were the best: Suddenly a big blue "STOP DYING PEOPLE!" comes up in my cross hairs, lol

Probably the funniest thing I remember from that round was when you and I swam across the water and we were sitting in the water under the ledge. There was a MEC soldier down there with us. We looked at him, he looked at us....there was nothing we could do being in the water. He swam right up in our faces, then swam away heading to the ramp...that's when I said "run!"
Other's may not find it funny, guess you had to be there
I was CO that round for the USMC, First time, as u all could tell, but about 10 minutes in no one had taken it and I was getting tired of having arty coming down on us. Props to both sides we both could not breach each others line across the river.

Had that happen. Three off us were trying to cross one time (not lasts nights game) when we ran into an entire squad, we all danced in the water for a couple of minutes before we realized that no one could do anythig. It was like a water ballet.
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
