9/9 11pm EST, Mashtuur

I wanted to thank the members of USMC Delta Squad for their valiant hold of the Mosque on Mashtuur. Our squad raced down, grabbed the mosque and was going to hold it on the ground before Mr_Satan666 suggested a roof top defense. We choppered to the top and laid out roof top defense against all manner of snipers, artillery, grenades and paratroopers. We lost the flag for small periods, but would not have done nearly so well without the cooperation and hardwork of Bodofooko, Courier, JohnnyWiz, Natio and Mr_Satan666. Bodofooko tore it up, Courier and Johnny Wiz would take turns suppressing with their assault rifles and reviving the squad. Mr_Satan666 was always man on call with the Blackhawk whenever we did get pushed off of our position and Natio gave our squad balance. Guys, that was a real blast and it's that kind of teamwork that continually brings me back to TG!

Props also to Commander Santa for giving us support when we did lose that flag those couple times.

Indeed, from the squad that was giving you hell the whole time, you deserve the props. Deveron valiantly led our squad through a fruitless attempt to dislodge you from that rooftop and he gets my kudos as well.

Nice job up there, and thanks for a good fight Dev!

Re: 9/9 11pm EST, Mashtuur

That battle for the flag w/ the USMC's satellite and artillery sure was frustrating. We made charge after charge after charge and couldn't even make it to the flag to even try to take it. And I kept fixing the arty so much that I felt like I was point whoring (all 3 repair points I got for doing it ). I felt so gimped with the shotgun out on the hills like that. I'd whip out the pistol but it too is hard to kill people with from a distance.

The USMC won a bunch of the rounds tonight, but the way our squad was beaten like a red-headed step child, it sure felt like we lost.

That was actually pretty amazing, I was sniping at you guys from across the way. I saw you drop on the flag and someone tossed some nades up there and wiped out all but two of your guys. One was about 10m away and I sniped him, and your medic ran around back dodging the nades. All the sudden the medic comes around, dives down, and brings back up two guys (one of which I was sure was the SL). I got one shot off before Arf popped me (we had a funny exchange too, but he won overall for a knife kill). Good job to you guys on that.

EDIT: You sure Santa was your CO? I was pretty certain he was the USMC CO...but I could be wrong. Or am I reading this wrong and you're saying you were USMC and you're thanking the MEC guys for a good battle? Hey, it's 1:30am, I get confused easily

Our medics did an absolute incredible job. Johnny Wiz revived me 3 times, resulting in I think 5 kills for some sniper (me 4 times, then Johnny once). Courier was the medic who brought us back after we were pinned down due to a sniper and grenades. There was one extreme case where the MEC pulled the flag, I fell and watched that timer click down. It made it down to one second before someone revived me. Again, that was a blast!

nevermind my edit above, your post answered my question. We were on the same team and I was shooting at the MEC guys on the roof, not you

That map was a blast. I didn't have orders from the commander from the get go so I tried a couple times (un-successfully) to have my squad quickly flank the northeast flag and then the usmc main flag. After getting repelled at the main for the second time, I decided to hop in a vodnik and try to surprise the northeast flag with the radar and arty. We rolled in quick and took the flag somewhat by surprise. Then we never let it go. We kept repelling squads coming from all different directions. We had help at times, but mostly it was our one squad scrambling to keep up.

Nice job guys.

You guys did good there, it really did take us by surprise. I spawned back at another point as a sniper and I was going to poke at you guys that way. I went to the spot I had in mind only to find a friendly claymore at the top of the ladder. I stood on the 1/2 way platform thinking about where I would go next.....I hear someone on the ladder and it's a teammate (not squadmate)...he climed the ladder and removed the claymore for me THEN I popped quite a few of you guys there before Arf knifed me. In my excitement of having that claymore removed I forgot to put one of my own down...oops!

Re: 9/9 11pm EST, Mashtuur

That was a fun map to command. At first i was going for just a basic plan of holding all the eastern CPs. This worked to get our ticked lead to about 100. Eventually the northeast flag fell, and i kept 1-2 squads attacking it all the time so that i could not only keep the enemy boxed up in a corner, but to also keep my arty up most of the time. Bommandos squad did awesome doing just that. They were up against probably 3 times the force but they managed to keep a fireline at the arty almost constnatly.

Eventually i had a small squad take undefended CPs on the west, and then a full squad took the enemys main and held it. Lucky shots squad did awesome defending the mosque. I was really confused why it switched hands so often and then i realized lucky was on the freakin roof. I gave him help from squads that were south of him so that the backup could be the clean up crew.

That's really wierd because I climbed that ladder, found a friendly sniper at the middle level, and climbed past him only to hit a Claymore on the roof. I can't imagine that happened twice in the same spot in the same round.

That definitely wasn't mine. I forgot to lay one there where you knifed me, but in my next two spots I put claymores down.

That small squad was a two-man sniper squad of atlxpat and I. I think it worked pretty well - we were small and fast enough to grab undefended flags, and at one point you assigned us to help another squad take the southwest flag. atl was a spec-ops and I was a sniper, so he snuck down and blew up the tank that was defending it, and then we cleared the flag of infantry which spawned there, by the time the full squad got there it was almost empty. I think the only casualty was atl getting shot by a guy who spawned.

Re: 9/9 11pm EST, Mashtuur

definately an awesome round, I was defending the USMC main base and NE base with the tank... and getting tons of kills doing it. It helped having a .50 cal next to me and we were repairing eachother.

Re: 9/9 11pm EST, Mashtuur

That map always seems to have a small squad of 2-3 snipers. I wish more of them would listen to orders like you guys did because a small squad like that can take almost undefended flags pretty well.
