karkand/daquing 9/13

i squad led in karkand. This was one of the better squads ive had. I dont remember failing any objectives that we attempted. One of our nicest steals was at the northwest. At first the attack started from the south, and i eventually maneuvered over to the north end. Most of the enemies had gone south, so we were able to fight right up to the flag and take it, and then we slaughtered the remains to the south. The rest of the match was at the trenches and a little bit of taking back flags to the west. I think in the end our squad score was around 600, with ultrablue at 200 due to his insane medic abilities. Note to any squad leaders with ultrablue on your squad, you need not worry about providing a spawn point

In daquing i started commanding about 5-10 minutes into the match. We held 4 flags almost all the way through, and eventually got it up to all but one flag. Bommandos squad did great, holding both the southern and middle flags. He was always talkin to me and askin for spots, which was cool. Perrys squad saw quite a bit of action, always keeping pressure and sometimes taking the 2 flags to the East. Finnally dukes squad held the west side, but unfortunatly for him i dont think they saw much action. Having such good squad leaders definatly made commanding enjoyable that round

daquing was an interesting game for me, started off holding ground with bomm and the rest of the squad, but got called back to help keep the assests up and running, turns out there was a dedicated squad attacking them the whole round, like a long game of cat a mouse, backwards and forwards repairing the assets, trying to work out what the next thing to blow would be

you kept my arty up quite a bit, especcialy for being by yourself most of the time. I kept tellin bom to say thanks to ya. Ordinarily i woulda sent a squad to help defend against the spec ops team, but we had ticket bleed so i didnt feel completely compelled to pull a squad off defense of a CP to further drain tickets through arty.

A good decision, IMO. Despite Xink on repair/guard duty, there was a lot of asset-exploding going on, but in this case I think the assets weren't top priority. Since you had good SL's the assets were not as necessary to keep everything coordinated. Well-positioned squads with good situational awareness meant the satellite scan wasn't so critical, and good squads in general make supplies, uav's and arty strikes less necessary.

Yeah, I think I'll log more SL hours before trying out the command position. Mercifully, more people are stepping up to the Big Chair lately. Maybe it was the times I played, but good commanders have seemed to be in better supply lately.
