09/20 2200 Oman

I thoroughly enjoyed the game on Oman last night. Although the end ticket result was a pretty sound whupping of the USMC by the MEC, there was some great squad vs squad fighting going on in the middle of it all. I don't normally enjoy Oman, but I had to play it since I could only be there for one game last night.

AMosely did a superb job as squad leader. We had the longest close combat standoff I've ever seen vs Beatnik's squad at the warehouse between the two western flags. We were all fighting hard and the medics were in prime form, resulting in lots of fun. After we finished giving Beatnik the beat-down, we moved on to other business.

Fun stuff!

lol. You guys were bringing it pretty hard. You guys got the jump on us a few times with some great flanking maneuvers. Plus Bommando and the other air assets were destroying us the entire map. That was a pretty brutal map for the USMC.

Did anyone see the tank fly about 10 or 15 feet up in the air at the SW (river) flag? I was part of perry's squad assaulting the flag from the west from across the river, and as I was swimming I looked up toward the flag just in time to see that tank fly up. It looked like an invisible giant picked it up and then dropped it again. Weird! Did C4 do that?

I was flying the chopper with Neo and it was by far my worst piloting day to date. both of us as gunners couldn't hit anything. I dont' know what was in the water, but neither of us could get on point. We got defeated pretty bad.

Yes Strag! I had a perfect view of that and it hit the ground before I could gather my senses and get a screenshot. It went straight up, a little higher than the flagpole, then straight down. I was attacking from the north side of that flag and that tank was in there with enemy infantry all over the place. I didn't see what caused it.

Yeah, that was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen in the game. Probably some object collision event that wasn't resolved correctly. I've had some really weird things happen to me when I've collided with objects. One time I was standing next to the wall of a building when a vehicle spawned on me and I was pushed through the solid wall and ended up inside the building. As you can imagine I was a little disoriented.

Heh, I guess it wouldn't be a "Battlefield" game without some goofy physics.

Yeah, that's one of the weirdest things I've heard yet -- actually getting pushed through a wall. There must be some funky collision code in these Battlefield games.

Re: 09/20 2200 Oman

What happened I think was that the USMC player got out of the tank and as soon as I saw him on foot, I proceeded to filch the armor piece. Once manned, I attempted to back the tank up outside of the CP to deprive the opposition. Suddenly --in cockpit view-- I was lifted straight off of the ground. I thought I had driven up the flag pole or something, but from your comments it seems there was more to this event.
