~USMC Assault = 3 rd burst
~I'm not a fan of the reddot for the M4 for SpecOps (seems to shoot shorter then the other SpecOp guns)
~USMC Medic = 3 rd burst
~USMC AT = peashooter

The ability to know when a grenade is going to be thrown at you or when you can hear someone being rezzed helps considerably. I'm sorry I don't speak arabic, so it's a lot harder to know when a grenade or a med pack is coming my way. I also extremely hate the 3 rd burst. It's a bunch of clicking instead of just getting decently close to someone and laying down the fire. I can't count how many times I've wasted 2 people sitting next to eachother with one burst on the MEC/Chinese assault rifle. I do that with USMC and I die so easily. Also, it's easier for me to hit further away with the OpFor weapons then the USMC using semi for some strange reason. Furthermore, I've played OpFor for so long that I know the camo for USMC so well that if I see it, it's dead in a split second. It takes me a few seconds to realize that it's OpFor if I'm playing USMC which is more crucial then people will believe.

As for vehicles...eh. I avoid going into vehicles that much nowadays as a sqaud leader. They are usually the first thing to go down..or they WILL go down if you don't capture that flag quickly enough.

Sorry to derail, just my pet peeve I guess.

Re: Wednesday Password Night...

I played for about 20min on Oman before I was called away, and as a part of the jets squad on the MEC side let me say that it was complete ownage. Thanks to Arf piloting the fighter and keeping the USMC busy, I was able to bomb the crap outta a few guys. The most memorable moment was when within 1min of joining, I destroyed a tank, a full apc and an entire squad with one load of bombs.

From the ground, however, I can imagine how bad things would have been. Oh well, just get pumped up for Friday or Sat night.

Re: Wednesday Password Night...

I think a lot of the problem starts with guys not wanting to go on defense at the start of a map. Anyone who has played with me knows the first thing I do is either defend the flag we spawn at or go defend another one. I always give it 5 minutes to see how things pan out, ESPECIALLY if we have no CO. Most people are cool with it, but those that aren't cool with defense to start, I'm probably not the SL for you If I see my team pushing them back, then I'll move my guys out.

I've been on the receiving end as USMC on Sharqi. I was not the SL, but our SL had us defending the TV station. Somehow Dark Viper's squad got in there and took it from us, but I think I know why. I was on the ground in a tank, and 2 other squad members were in the attack helo. This was a full server and at that point we had no other flags. I still can't understand how we didn't manage to hold one flag.

If I have to go CO Saturday night I will. I'm much better at other roles but I'll definitely step up if no one else does.

2nd flag from the West, we were heading that way when we saw you hit the lottery there. You completely filled up the screen with kills, that was nice

Re: Wednesday Password Night...

Even though I was on the losing team last night (Sharqi and Oman), I still had a great time. Better than most nights, even. Jep's squad was able to hold/capture most of our assigned objectives, and I was having some good luck with the killings (Sorry, JMJ ).

Honestly, I think it was the most fun I've had in a couple of weeks!

It was nice to come back and win on Kirkland, though. It was about a 10-on-10 game at that point. We were doing will on the East side, but there was some whack-a-mole going on out West. I decided to jump into the CO seat to help with a UAV and a few arty drops. Since we had all of our assets up and running, I was able to spot ALL of the OpFor -- pretty easy when there's so few! The squads were able to mop up pretty quick for an easy win. I felt a bit like I was cheating, but I just wanted the map to end so I could get some sleep!

Re: Wednesday Password Night...

Sharqi was brutal. I was in Jep's squad and we did our best to keep a flag defended, but at one point I was killed 6 times in a row by the MEC Chopper. I joined with only 1 USMC flag and it stayed basically that way until a 450-0 route.

The attack choppers don't belong on this map. For every time I've seen them used effectively they are abused 100s of times to rack up kills on spawning troops.

I agree. Sharqi is such a good ground pounding map that it would be great to see the helos removed.

Re: Wednesday Password Night...

So true. Sharqi would be far more rewarding as a fastmovers and infantry only style map.

Agreed. I just went to bed. It just wasn't any fun. The two squads I was in on Sharqui were not communicating at all, nor were they covering each other, and the MEC had us boxed. Every spawn was an opportunity to bend over.

As far as I am concerned, I have better games on non-passworded nights. I'll pass.

Re: Wednesday Password Night...

All the doom and gloom.. Sheesh guys, it just doesn't come together some nights.

I play racquetball. Sometimes I go and play, and the games all suck. It happens. Doesn't make me say that I won't play next Wednesday night.

If we don't like the gameplay one night, then let's learn from it and make the next one better.

Re: Wednesday Password Night...

I think people who are good should take the challange upon themselves and switch sides to even out the tables if a game ends with a totaly one sided victory. A score like 450-0 on any map means the teams are stacked.

I only had time to stay for the first Oman battle under the password and US seemed to be doing all right, guess it didn't last

Re: Wednesday Password Night...

Yeah it was mostly a balance issue, I think. When the MEC can win Oman (the 2nd game) that decisively, there's a clue that we need to re-balance.

Even being on the winning side, I would have preferred a much tighter game. Ah well, it happens.

Re: Wednesday Password Night...

It was hard to be the USMC yesterday, logged on pretty late. But then I watch the movie BigGaayAl posted and I feel all better. And TG still beats other public servers anyday. The lack of people was not that fun though. The team that gets the upper hand just gets way to much armor/player compared to the other team.

Anyway could we have the server automatically remove the password if the number drops below 30 or have it automatically remove it around 10 PM if less than 40 is playing.

Just an idea.

. I think at one point we were surrounded by 4 APCs, a tank, various infantry and a sniper team on the hill to the southeast. Really great work.

Too bad we didn't have a commander.
Thanks Jepzilla. Although I'm a consistently poor player I always enjoy playing (ie: spawning), and I particularly enjoyed defending the hotel as part of your squad.
