Dalian Plant 03/10 - Great game! Sassy at her best :)

Wanted to post this lastnight but fell asleep. I joined PLA on Dalian Plant with USMC owning nearly all the flags and us at roughly a 200+ point deficit. Organisation was a mess. Heck I spawned at our airfield and the Helo was just SITTING THERE waiting on me!

Formed my gunship squad and took off to wreak havoc fully expecting an embarassing loss but playing for the experience anywayz. Was joined shortly thereafter by |TG|Perry as my gunner. We were losing badly to say the least.

Shortly thereafter I hear a female voice in my ear. Lo and Behold Sassy has stepped up to be commander! I felt kinda sorry for her considering she got in so late, I've never seen a team make a comeback from such a large deficit so she was fighting a losing battle but it was admirable that she'd make the attempt anywayz

Told her I was her gunship squad (#5) and that she should feel free to whore my gunner and I anyway she saw fit

It took another 5-10mins before we could even hold a flag... but after a short amount of time I was shocked to realise we were actually OUT of ticket bleed! After some more excellent, calm, decisive commanding by her Sassyness we actually had USMC in bleed AND had closed within 100 tickets. She wisely had us hold our current flags and defend. Minimising engagements while bleeding USMC dry. I tried to help Perry rain as much desctruction as we could from above with her direction. We broke within 50 tickets with like 10 mins left in the map and broke in the lead with about 4 mins to spare in the map. I remind you this is from a ridiculous 200+ ticket deficit!

In the end we won that round with something like a 20-30+ ticket lead due to excellent commanding by Sassy and the cooperation of the other squads. THAT was undoubtedly one of the best comebacks I've ever seen.

Quite fittingly she got the Best Player Gold Star at the end of the map.

Three cheers for SASSY!
I'll be her b*tch/lemming any time she needs me from now on

Props also go out to my gunner for the night, Perry. He was a lil rusty for the first couple minutes but was taking them down like a pro after that. Sorry for getting us killed so often

It's fun being an SL when Sassy takes the reigns. She's got a great sense of where the squads need to be to stop the bleed, and can cajole/berate/intimidate the squads into cooperating.

And, like Bommando, she's fun to listen too when she gets frustrated: "I'd be able to get the ticket bleed under control if Squad 3 would stop screwing around and cap the NW flag!"-actual sassy quote from awhiles back.

I can see it now:

"The Match of the Decade Bommando vs SassyOne"

Cast: Bommando From the deep south
SassyOne also from the south but not the deep south

Objective: To see you can get the most out of thier SL's.

Will tempers fly?

[Cross posted from the SM game thread]

I was on the USMC side, and MAN we were getting pummeled from above. Our air support was basically useless. I saw StrikeFear join our team for a bit, and I was hella relieved, but then he switched over and things just got worse...

The CO (Bean6?) was yelling at me (I was SL for #3) because we weren't attacking flags -- we were, but we'd get blasted before we got anywhere near them. My squad was mad, I was mad, the CO was mad... it wasn't a good scene. In a very non-TG moment I was swearing at the CO because he kept asking why we hadn't taken the NE flag yet. "Because we get f'ing ripped to f'ing shreds by the f'ing choppers! Where's the f'ing air support?!"

After that I calmed down and decided to sneak south and take the construction yard. Taking a well defended NE flag is almost impossible without armor.

Regardless of the outcome, I was happy with my squad's efforts. Thanks to Ranger, D.U.G., AbeRioGunman, nex911, Malv and... the others who I can't remember.

Nice work, Sassy -- there was definitely a push once you jumped into the driver's seat.

Re: Dalian Plant 03/10 - Great game! Sassy at her best :)

I joined that game mid-round, and it turned out to be a lot of fun. Esp. w/ Sassy taking over as CO with us down 200 pts, and coming back to win. Marstein as our SL did a good job of having us hold the Reactor Towers & the South Docs. While we were defending those flags, the USMC must have flown everything they could at us, only to have ABRA & Marstein & the rest of the squad shoot them down, or scare them off. I, for some reason, being in the APC, couldn't take down squat. I think I served more of the role of a bombing magnet, but it was all good.

I guess the funny moment would be when I was (again) pushed into the SL chair near the end of the round, and with less than 1 min. to go, I hear Sassy on the voip saying something like, "Okay, squads, have at it on that last flag. Only one minute to go." Then watching every single squad race across the map to jump all over that last flag.

Ah - I wish I could have been there for those last five minutes. This game was more realistic than the games that often turn into a huge bloodbath with an average lifespan of about 2s. This game started as total chaos actually. Too many noobs but it turned around and became quite a success story.

Re: Dalian Plant 03/10 - Great game! Sassy at her best :)

I think there was a massive influx of SM as the private server had just let out. Marstein and I were loosening up quite a few choppers but out airboys and whoever else we had at that south west AA were delivering most of the coup de graces. It was good practice leading choppers with the .50.

I learned three things that round.

One exactly how soon to engage an approaching chopper for maximum effectiveness considering range and barrel temperature.

Two how far to lead air targets.

Three that if you point the FAV in the likely direction of attack you can F3 over to the passenger-side LMG when the .50 overheats.

On that last point it seemed like the passenger-sde LMG was more weak and inaccurate than the .50. Can anyone verify this suspician on my part.

I had a great time on Sharqi too. Especially leading my fireteam of Tookie(who has no mic but is very good with the binds) and Jament in defense of the construction site. JAMES was a fantastic SL to work under and I think we had a tremendously successful run that map.

It's true, we ran them out of every single control point on that map. Just not all the points at once.

I'm not a very seasoned chopper whore at all, but I saw you were in the gunship squad by yourself so I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I've seen the crazy moves you pull from the ground, but it's something else entirely to be in the chopper as you're zipping around! I got a couple choppers with the tv guided missles, but a vast majority of my shots were near misses. Same with the APC's and stuff, but I was starting to get the hang of those towards the end.

I started flying on Sharqi, but after getting shot down it autobalanced me to the USMC so I just called it a night. I was kinda in a flying mood but the USMC chopper squad already had 2 people in it.

Cool Re: Dalian Plant 03/10 - Great game! Sassy at her best :)

Thank you all.. it was a rather impressive win that round and I give all the credit (well, most of it ) to the Sls and squaddies who flawlessly executed each objective. I simply provided the "eye in the sky" that helped coordinate exceptional efforts.

I want to personally thank Cymba (and the Academy) for showing me how effective a gunship squad can be. At first I have to admit, I was like "WTH is a gunship?" but by the end of the round, I think I really learned what a dominating force superior air power can be.

Sometimes I worry that I am a little too conservative in the interest of winning a round, because I will always use defensive tactics if possible and I know that can be a bit boring if a squad is just babysitting. I really try and switch things up a bit, especially if our lead is large enough to have some playing room if things don't go well. Feel free to let me know if your guys get bored with their current objective. (Of course, I reserve the right to feel free to tell you to shove it! haha)

All in all, y'all are a pleasure to work for and I can't wait to do it again soon!

Kisses,
Sassy (who really is deep......no...really! she is! just because she's blonde doesn't mean... doh.. shouldn't have said that....lol)
