Thumbs up Monday night 10/10 PDT - Zatar, Sharqi

Had a great round SL'ing in Sharqi with Budahack, BobbertTheCat (as Medic), Maddog and Marcozy. We took the hotel quickly from a boat and secured the 4 middle flags and held them while the enemy was busy in the TV tower. Eventually the CO Natio decided to try attacking the tower which backfired and gave the USMC an opening. We fought house to house until we were saved by the clock.
Running up that hill from the hotel to the surveillance post countless time until we had it against some vicious fighters was tough, but we took that post. We must have missed the US coming down the hill and taking the hotel, but by that time we had won.
In Zatar, there was also wussypoo. As SL the situation sometimes seems so hopeless as I circle the CP but then suddenly my guys cap the flag and I can't believe how nice they did it.

Monday Night late nighters

Just wanted to say that I had a great time playing last night till the wee hours. I've only been the commander a few times, and I tried it out again last night on Sharqi as US. Needless to say, it was disastrous, so a hearty apology to my beleaguered men. Before that, though, squad leading on the Zatar Wetlands and Karkand was some of the best defense I'd seen on that map. We held the Center Island for almost the entire round. At Karkand we had one of the closest games ever; it made me fall in love with that map again.

I had a great time - from the other side - on Sharqi. I was on top of the hill, defending against your squads charges! Awesome fun.

Thumbs up Re: Monday Night late nighters

Homan; You were a great commander. I was sorry to see that you were logged off by the end of the map.

At any rate, I've seen "come-back-kids" a couple of times on Sharqi (where the entire USMC team, except one guy, is dead and that one guy manages to cap a flag and have the whole army spawn in on his position), but it never works out. It always seems to be a quick flash in the pan before the MEC heavyweights roll in over top again.

Well, not tonight! It was brilliant. Granted, we lost in the end, it was an honest loss and not the humbling wiping of the walls that I've sometimes been priviledged to be a part of. At any rate, we had a spec ops squad who was causing problems for the MEC, but was generally out of the main field of combat. So, after we lost our last flag, he rips up the western side of the map and retakes the city entrance.

The MEC commander (Natio, an extremely capable commander if I've ever met one) dropped arty on us, but it wasn't enough. USMC broke out of the city entrance and got a few quick caps around the map. My squad (Juliet, Squad 5) capped the hotel, and then capped the TV station. We faced stiff resistance, but managed to hold it for a good long time, despite a relentless MEC barrage.

I have only one complaint; one MEC pilot (I thinking there were a couple, and I'm not sure which one) was spawn-camping the TV station. I read in another thread that this is considered un-TG. I don't have any names, but I just wanted to make this public so people are reminded that it is not allowed. But, even the spawn camping only last 3-5 minutes before he bugged out and didn't come back.

I also wanted to say thanks to my squad; you guys were amazing. Sometimes, I play a series of games in a row where we just can't get it together, but Juliet squad managed to stay on top of it the entire game, minus a few minutes at the end where we got somewhat scattered and consequently chopped up. Squad members were Tybalt (fellow 7th!), Spongebob, Fuzzy (the Visa of Medics; He's everywhere you want to be), savage, and Gunrack. We had DenverDog in the squad earlier as well, and he did great while he was online.

To all my squad (and Homan, my CO) I really hope to see you guys online again in the near future. You are all great players and super assets to the TG community!

Later.

Dice.

Yeah, I lost my con right at the end, felt bad about that. I get a bug where I lose the connection, and my internet won't work until I restart my computer. Frustrating. Anyway, that stunt that the spec ops guy pulled was amazing. Allowed us to come back and take an honorable loss, instead of being wiped. Natio is very, very capable. I always would rather be taking orders from him than trying to beat his army.

Re: Monday night 10/10 PDT - Zatar, Sharqi

man...i JUST got my computer back up and running, which went down right after the demo was released so it was a breath of fresh air to com back to the TG server and play some REAL BF2....lol although i died a lot and was a TERRIBLE squad leader (it fell to me by default), i had tons of fun just trying to follow orders and defend our flags...i was USMC so the TV station and survy post battles were INTENSE.

again, thanks everybody and i look forward to seeing more of you!!!!

Had much fun last night, thanks for the good SL'ing Marstein. We really took care of all the middle flags for a good portion of the match. For awhile it seemed like the other team was just holed up in the tv station trying to get us to attack and lose tickets, but that strat wasnt enough to turn the tide. But it made it erily (?) quiet out in the middle for some time.

D$%m you xTYBALTx and your grenade launcher! Bah! I hate that weapon!

Lots of fun... see ya tonight!
