Clean Sweep 10/30

Well Clean Sweep was a massacre, as usual. Except this time it was USMC that got massacred and MEC that was the massacree.

It was a strange map in many other regards. Dark Viper was commanding (a strange and freekish occurance) and I spent most of the map in an AA. Shot down the F-15 and attack chopper 4 or 5 times each. Good times.

Yeah, how in the world you killed that many things in the AA is totally beyond me.

Re: Clean Sweep 10/30

My bomber managed to escape the USA's AA. Lead-Headache was my gunner and I think he gave all of the allied armor a real headache. I flew the bomber around for the whole 40-45 minute round and the only time we died was when I accidentally flew into an enemy helicopter. Bombs away!

Re: Clean Sweep 10/30

Yeah, 32 player cleansweep is pretty brutal. No fighter = unopposed bombers. Well apart from the AA.

I think the USA does have a fighter in that version.

gix you did great, the circumstances where out of your control, i dont mind getting bombed, its just when thats ALL that happens for the whole round without any ground opposition, really bites

Re: Clean Sweep 10/30

Yea, it's just that everywhere I tried to bring our squad ... we got pummeled!!
Then, some of out squad-mates got fed-up and split or did there own thing .... towards the end.

I'd agree .. the map doesn't pay well in 32 player .. everywhere you go, the MEC side just has the drop on you.
Oh well, better luck next time .. was great playing with you guys though !!

Re: Clean Sweep 10/30

Yeah Clean Sweep can be a biotch! Always seems to be a mass exodus when it comes on but I like it.

Here is a nice asset map of CS for those who aren't real familiar with it!

We got the rest of em on our site and our TG bruthaz are more than welcome to em'.
Were kinda like a mini-TG with training wheels still :P

Red face Re: Clean Sweep 10/30

I was the commander for the USMC that round. I think Im partly guilty for that disaster. But I mainly blame it on the map. My initial plan was to get one base to stop ticket bleed, defend it with all but one squads and try to get one of the rear bases with one squad in a helicopter.
What this lead to was that our whole team just sat there, occupying our only base, and the opposing team didnt engage with their groundtroops but just sended their bomber in.
Well... at least I learned something. Next time take out "small airfield"!
What really annoys me is that you just can't take all bases, so this is basically a team deathmatch level.
Tips and rants are welcome.

I was in the jet squad so I didn't hear the CO's planning, but you're right. That was an inventive strategy to let the enemy spawn into a kill zone up north. I saw your team's transport chopper a lot but I think our guys' vehicles were just too fast in responding to it. Very often I saw a flag turn neutral and stay that way for awhile, then turn back OpFor.

Re: Clean Sweep 10/30

I looked on that map for a while, and have come to the conclusion that it's not such a bad map after all. In fact Im looking forward on my next try.

Re: Clean Sweep 10/30

I would love to see some sort of modded clean sweep map.
