Smoking Tarpan
Last night I was playing and the members of the squad I was in seemed to drop out. I took a look at the squad list and I saw a squad name "Tarpan". And a squad leader with the name "Smoking Tarpan".
Hmm, this was a name I never have had a pleasure to play with. I had only heard his name in the forums. I really know he must have a good name here in TG, because after I joined a lot of other TG members joined. But what a SL. One of the top 10 SL that I have been playing under since I joined TG. Great at giving orders, waypoints, using cover in our movement and staying a live. Thanx Smoking Tarpan for coming back to play with us.

Re: Smoking Tarpan
I couldn't believe it myself. He's been AWOL for a while. Hopefully Tarpan shows his ugly head a bit more! It is usually tough to get into his squads... and then of course I get teamswitched.

Re: Smoking Tarpan
Shh... No one is supposed to know I'm here, that way no one will shoot at me.
Indeed, as Percu said, I formatted my computer 2-3 months ago (several times, actually, was trying some things out) and I just never got BF2 back on. In fact, up until yesterday, I only had WoW and Civ4 (well, and the DDO open stress test, but that doesn't count) on my machine. Was good playing with you guys and, as usual, being in the thick of things again. By the way, did the 1.3 patch upgrade the sounds in the game? Things sounded a lot different (better, more defined) than I remember.

Re: Smoking Tarpan
As I said in the team stacking thread, hopefully the ass whoopings we took last night don't drive you away for another 2 - 3 months, Tarpan
Sorry about disappearing in the middle of Dragon Valley, my computer locked up and I decided that was enough BF2 for the evening.I still love the buggy sounds.. They sound like little race-cars. Makes driving them so much fun ![]() |

Re: Smoking Tarpan
Well I thought that the gun sounds were different, but I attributed it to using my speakers instead of headphones. Then later on my headphones, I kept hearing this kinda wooden thump, and was looking around for what was falling off of my walls. After about a minute I realized that it was the sound of water under the boathouse I was in, heh.
No, the whoopin' we received won't drive me away, have no fear. I'm certain that we gave out a good many in return.

Re: Smoking Tarpan
I couldn't believe it when I saw a TARPAN squad last night either. That brought me back to the good ol' days of summer trying to get in your squads. I just wish my framerate wasn't so bad that I had to bail after 10 minutes.
Welcome back ST. Looking forward to playing with and against you... ![]()
