Daqing Oilfields Air War - Dec. 4th (Late)
Map: Daqing Oilfields
Players: 35 - 40
Time: Late
Date: uh...ignore the thread name...it was December 3rd. Stupid International Date Line.
PLA CO: Sassy
USMC CO: Phil2222
The air war on Daqing tonight was a hectic one, fraught with danger and very strange and bizarre occurances which can, as Arf says, be put down only to magic. Half-way through this map I was autoswapped from the PLA to the US team, and thus had an unusually candid view of the combat.
Major participants (those who flew all round):
Arf, Steel Penguin, Duke and myself
Minor participants (those who flew part of the round):
Dark Viper, Ed Chiang
For the first part of the game, I was gunning in the Chinese bomber, with Duke as the pilot. In the middle of one bombing run, Arf appeared in front of us and we initiated a chase. He began evasive maneuvers, and took us up to the highest altitudes, where both planes managed to hit the ceiling.
Here's where the fun began. Both pilots were fighting with their machines, and struggling to point their noses downwards. Arf managed this first, and began to streak away. From my gunner view, I saw him run, running away squealing like a little girl with her pigtails on fire.
Bam. |TG-1337th|Munchkin [Su-30] |TG-7th|Arf.
For the deduction impaired, I shot down an enemy fighter with the laser guided missile in the bomber. Taunt on TS, wash and repeat.
Arf was angry, Arf was quick, Arf jumped over a candle stick...and shot down Duke and Munchkin multiple times later. I defend our reputation by saying that he gunned us down as we were landing, and finished us off with a few well aimed rammings.
:P
We'd get our comeuppance for cockiness though - on my last bombing run, we were shot down by a SRAW. Yep, you read that correctly. A bomber was shot down by an AT rocket. Fortunately, I was autoswapped at this point, and thus saved a bit of face.
As Arf's wingman on the USMC jet squad, I was there when Duke managed to pull off the third ridiculous kill of the night, shooting him down with a laser guided missile.
A few well-aimed taunts later, Dark Viper began flying for the PLA. We died. We cowered, we cried and we sat at the airfield. And then we died some more.
For the last 3 minutes of the game, Ed joined us, and began hunting Viper with a focused rage unparalleled in all of society. Unfortunately, the big DV was grounded due to some mid-air TKing.

Was chasing down Arf's F-15 in my Su-30 with Duke. Out of missles, I chased him all the way back to the US airfield and started using guns. He dove in for a reload run and *BAM* Duke just blew that sucker away with his LGM.
On TS, Arf mentioned something about hacks and Duke hating or something.

Hehe - it's a good thing Duke can't have TS and BF2 open at the same time. I got to be a messenger boy for some of the taunting

I was with Arf both times he got killed by the LGM. It really was hillarious when i found out what hit us. Props to Lokka for hitting you guys with the SRAW though. That's a one in a million shot right there

It really was freakin' unexpected. We were cruising along quite happily and then suddenly explode. I think I heard some demented laughter over TS (from DV, of course), and then the autoswap happened.

Was ground-pounding that map, and operating the Chinese mobile AA at the old city part of the map, keeping you guys honest. (And getting blown up as soon as someone noticed.
) I also like to go support and heckle the choppers with MG fire.

We've got witnesses! Penguin saw Arf get LGMed twice, and Viper saw us get SRAWed. Also, Duke and I will back each other up. And if anyone wants the battlerecorder video of perry getting taken down by an AK,shoot me a PM.

I hoped you had forgotten to make an AAR. It was bad enough that I got hit the first time but the second I had to take a moment of shocked silence before I concluded that you are all a bunch of hackers.
Shame on all of you!
Except Trooper. No screenshot - didn't happen!

Hmm, what level do you have to be to cast Magic Missile twice in one day?
