Oman 1/7 MEC
Just quick props to hand out as I didn't have a chance to catch who was in what squads. Hopped into the game partway through and the MEC was down to two flags on Oman. After situating myself, decided to go CO. It seemed that all the squads were attacking out of those 2 flags and after capturing a back base were able to split the US defense into multiple fronts. It then became a battle of pushing into lighter areas with a key focus on capturing flags and not on pushing into heavily guarded areas. Once we had 5 flags, it was defense, and capture vulnerable flags.
With having 9 squads, it's difficult remembering what everyone did. Most small squads were extremely mobile. All squads were responsive and smart (even suggesting things I had overlooked) Squad 1 was a jets squad and had some trouble keeping people from getting booted (Non SM's). Regardless, someone was always there to help keep the air free from US Choppers. Squad 2 was an absolute force, weakening US pushes by hitting stragglers on the way to MEC held flags. Squad 3 was huge on defense at the Village Fort against US attacks but were quick enough at one time to make a run to cap the River Fort from the Village Fort, then Race back to guard the Village Fort. Squad 6 was a meatgrinder that slowly devoured the enemy as they moved forward from the River Fort to the Olive Hill Fort. They also penned in the enemy at the construction yard keeping the enemy from spreading back to the west side of the map. Squad 7 started out as a 1 man engineer capping the Rock Fort and slowly grew to defend the western beachfront. Squad 8 was very responsive and a very successful attack squad. They also at times successfully defended the River Fort, and captured the Village at the same time. Their most memorable moments for me happened while they defended along with squad 3 near the end of the game at the Village Fort. Squad 9 was a nuisance to the MEC as a small mobile squad. I know at times there was a squad 4 and 5, but I don't remember them surviving until the end of the game. I did get a laugh out of hearing that someone put 2 reputation points up for grabs if they could kill me that round. Glad I could keep anyone from collecting that one! ![]() THanks again for the quick games tonight! Lucky Shot |
