1/30 Monday Night Mayhem

Wow! What a resurrection for supporting member games. I played 3-4 rounds and we had at least 35-40 and sometimes more for the entire time I was on.

Excellent play on the new maps and thanks to everyone for taking the time to download the files and show up! Hope next Monday is just as good

Props to Coridon for being our squad leader and taking us by boat to the USMC carrier in the initial startup. It was an awesome idea until we turned the corner to enter the hangar and were promptly blown up by Perry's rocket. 6 team kills right off the bat

Good games again everyone!

Re: 1/30 Monday Night Mayhem

Even making up for my -20487098 point deficit, I still outscored Beatnik for the round

Tonight was good fun.. I'm not certain that too many of the maps are server 1 worthy, but they sure were fun for our little Monday Night Mayhem game

Man, I had a blast. I will definitely be making more of these. I also love the new maps in Map pack 3.

By the end of the evening I got tired of seeing Bhack's name. "Bhack killed ChIck3nL3gZ" It was sickening. He had some damn good hiding spots in his armor.

Re: 1/30 Monday Night Mayhem

WOW! That was great. I loved all the maps we played, although there are some issues with Bocage. It really showed how much potential there is still left in BF2.

Great games guys.

Re: 1/30 Monday Night Mayhem

Great games everyone. Agreed a few of the maps are definitely not server 1 ready, but maybe we can tweak them a bit and make them more playable on the private server. A few things that stood out:
  • Maps need bleed, and perhaps a ticket adjustment
  • We should just get rid of the carrier on Valhalla and give the USMC the factory to start off with
  • Alcatraz would be fun with grappling hooks, but is a bit of a pain otherwise
  • I'm not sure how well all the unlocks are with the possibility of virtually every team member using the F2000 and flashbangs
Other than those observations, the quality of play was very high (as expected). I liked ATOM, Bocage 2005 and Valhalla the best. The cattails/weeds on Bocage were awesome. I had a great time despite my debilitating lag. So much starting and stopping and jerking is very hard on the eyes and brain...

I'm going to go have a seizure now...

It wasn't so much me hiding as you spawning/being revived in front of the 120mm tank cannon.

Good games, forgot how crazy it is when you remove the pub factor. So much organized squad movements things get nasty fast.

I was calling out orders that I doubt a pubbie squad would have been capable of carrying out. Things like ambushes. I had my entire squad hide in some ruins and a building on either side of a road. Told them to completely hide, on my order everyone popped up and engaged the enemy forces which we slaughtered. Cheers mates!

Hah, the europeans in my squad have me using their lingo now.

Re: 1/30 Monday Night Mayhem

That was fantastic, several great games in a row! I aggree that some of the maps needing a bit of a tweak but as it was my first time playing most of them I really enjoyed every second. Some of the fights in the woods on valhalla were amazing. This moment at the power station on Bocage?? made me laugh(see picture).....anyone would think we were expecting an attack Great SLing by the way Bhack, I enjoyed that ambush you set up.

Re: 1/30 Monday Night Mayhem

I only had a chance to play Bocage and Valhalla before it was off to work for me.

It's really nice not having CO's because it has a bit of the "tactical mod" feel...on Bocage my squad snuck down to the southern CP and captured it...on foot the whole time, baby.

One time a column of armor rolled by and I told everyone to drop and not to engage...it was awesome seeing them move past just a couple of feet from our heads and not know we were there.

Props to my squad on both maps...I made some poor SL decisions on Valhalla but that map is an abomination the way it is now. I don't even know if it's salvagable...it seems the US can't get ashore unless PAL "allows" them, and then it's whack-a-mole from there. There was a time the US only controlled the middle CPs and I thought if we just kept them pinned in we could win, but they moved East while we were eagerly awaiting for them West of their position. Drats!!

Good games...let's do this again next week...

Re: 1/30 Monday Night Mayhem

Yeah, for my first mayhem outing it was a real blast. I agree some of the maps were flawed but even so it was real fun to get some fresh terrain to pound over. Thanks Bhack, that was some great SLing. The ambush was real fun, those are the sort of orders i love to get, something you never get out there in publand. Really takes the game to a new level.

Nice screenshot shirk. Im sure Perry will be pleased to know you were hanging about taking a few "snaps" while he was bleeding to death....Nice to be immortalised stalking a particularly suspicous pylon though....

Managed to get into Bhacks squad for one round before Yellow Dragon crashed my machine. Wish I could have hung around for more.

You know how it is, I accidently pressed 7, which is the little known extra medic unlock of the camara, and I was as hoping to make some money with my war photos when i go into retirement. Perry must have been shot the exact moment I took the picture because I would never be caught away from my post, and I am sure that I then immediately ran over and revived him, honest...

Re: 1/30 Monday Night Mayhem

Another one bites the dust...

Anyway, the maps i enjoy from the map pack are ATOM, valhalla (with the changes that beatnik made), bocage, and power station (though I didnt play it, it looked great). I hated alcatraz a great deal. It was basically run up to the enemy, everybody crowded around one area, and have your toob out ready to shoot randomly to get a kill. Very untactical.
