AAR TG EURO NIGHT #2, Thu Feb 16th 20:00 GMT
thanks everyone for being there. it was a hectic and deadly night for me.
fighting along Paladin, Thug and ExplodingSilver as squadleaders i really had a good time.
between getting sniped by support weapons, flying grenades, Robocops sidearm and - well - snipers i pretty much ran into every claymore i could find. looks like i got myself a free lifetime subscription for Breddys claymores. explosive stuff.
another thing i found out was you actually take screenshots using your F12 key - not the Print Screen key. so I ended up having only 1 screenshot in the clipboard and none on my harddrive.
this one shot sums it up pretty well:
while all the crazy fighting raged on the ground i took my time now and then to put my dead eyes up in the sky just to see two enemy UAVs peacfully dancing with each other.

i noticed a lot of US guys joining in the EURO NIGHT from the beginning. the server was pretty crowded all evening long (and still is at the time of this writing).
lets do this again next Thursday! and the one after...TG-E1st TacticalGamer European Division | Watch this (pretty old) video to find out what TG is all about

I managed just under 4 hours of this event...and as a TG newbie I loved it! Had a great time. Got fragged alot, but still had loads of fun.
Thanks much to [TG]Exploding_Silver for running the "Learn TG" squad during the first rounds!! Your efforts were greatly appreciated.
I ended up being SL a couple times which was less than ideal, especially for my squad mates. I tried to be the polite Canadian however, and offer up the seat to the more experienced gamers... :-)
Cheers everyone!

Re: AAR TG EURO NIGHT #2, Thu Feb 16th 20:00 GMT
Thx eGoatBoy for the appreciation and I'll be running 'Learn TG' squads again next week
This is how busy the server was;
(9th Feb) 10 players (16th Feb) 14 players / CET 9pm / GMT 8pm / EST 3pm
(9th Feb) 18 players (16th Feb) 35 players / CET 9.30pm / GMT 8.30pm / EST 3.30pm
(9th Feb) 21 players (16th Feb) 33 players / CET 10pm / GMT 9pm / EST 4pm
(9th Feb) 24 players (16th Feb) 40 players / CET 10.30pm / GMT 9.30pm / EST 4.30pm
(9th Feb) 27 players (16th Feb) 44 players / CET 11pm / GMT 10pm / EST 5pm
(9th Feb) 33 players (16th Feb) 39 players / CET 11.30pm / GMT 10.30pm / EST 5.30pm
(9th Feb) 40 players (16th Feb) 47 players / CET 12pm / GMT 11pm / EST 6pm
(9th Feb) 41 players (16th Feb) 49 players / CET 0.30am / GMT 11.30pm / EST 6.30pm
(9th Feb) 33 players (16th Feb) 56 players / CET 1am / GMT 12pm / EST 7pm
"CET (Central European Time)"
"GMT (Greenwich Mean Time)"
"EST (Eastern Standard Time)"
And like Dawolf said, there were a lot of our North American friends, and I mean a lot, it looks like EURO night this week was really 'early start' night for the North Americans. I did talk to some Europeans who were playing on the server for the first time, and it was great to show them a busy server brimming with good squadplay.

I was in that squad for a while. Exploding, it's not UVA, it's UAV.

This time I managed to play and I must say I loooved it
It was so much different than playing on public servers - this time I felt like a part of a team. SL giving orders, not rushing himself into the middle of a firefigh, cooperation within a squad - well, I think my english is too weak to describe my feelings
Anyway - I loved playing on TG, I just hope my squadmates didn't feel too bad about having a newbie in the squad. And I'm certainly going to repeat that. Thanks for a good game, everyone!

i had a good time, the numbers are going up, didt capture any screenshots but 1 classical 10 10 1 moment was when i parashuted and landed on top of a enemy tank(zatar) and kneeled: put 2 c4packs on the turret and blew it up.And in mashtuur when i took out 1 squad with my 101 and a knife. Great sL's tonight: I experienced another top teamplay night(as always in TG servers)

Re: AAR TG EURO NIGHT #2, Thu Feb 16th 20:00 GMT
Good job CandyCane!

I was lucky enough tonight to have a very consistenet squad in terms of membership (although poor aculle seemed to be having connection problems. Firstly apologies to Robocop - thanks for not teamkilling us over comments best left unsaid here
(haha)
We certainly seemed to be the guys on 'forwrd defence' a lot of the time, which is no surprise cos that's where I like to be. For those guys not used to my style sorry for dragging you through the hard places so often, but hey if you don't try you never know what can be done!
The final Sharqi was the best for me, and really up there I think in terms of defence. Mainly position in the construction site we held it for very long periods of time. I think we were only fully shrugged off once, but recaptured it in under 2 minutes (I'm pretty sure the enemy squad capping it and moved off tho). Some really fluid defences and quick raids into neighbouring flags (with the inevitable recapture of the flag we just left scenario!). Damn those snipers! At one point on the south building I was forced to the bottom floor such were the number of shots heading my way!
Also sorry if I sound grumpy-like-Bommando at times. I tend to just keep reiterating what needs to be done with the volume of my voice a good indicator of the amount I am panicking
Not trying to have a go!
I think in terms of achievement the pinnacle was KArkand. As USMC we capped the east side in short order, and kept the enemy assets down long enough to do some real damage in the west. I lef tthat point and rejoined my squad for the assaults on the west, and with 5 armour vs 0 the finish was pretty clinical. As MEC on Karkand you must defend the west side of the river. Delay your squad's spawn as an SL and if no-one spawns at Factory or Cement Factory then spawn in there and plug the river crossing. On 32 and 64 player maps I - in all honestly with no exaggeration at all - have managed to capture tha back flag by making a direct rush across the river crossing the last 8 times I have played Karkand. If I get to 10 I'm going to start making some rude posts about needing to defend
Seriously tho - the attacking squad has to sprint fully across an open bit of river that they cannot go prone in, and a defending squad has plenty of cover and choke points to help. By not doing this you risk... well a 547 ticket loss as you get pushed off of every flag on the map. It'd only take 3 guys to be honest...

That was a lot of fun! There were some different styles that I was able to experience, and I would definitely look forward to it again if I had the time off of work. My squad had a great run on Mashtuur and a solid defense at the TV station on Sharqi.
Great games and more than happy to do that again!
Lucky Shot
