AAR TG EURO NIGHT #3, Thu Feb 23rd 20:00 GMT
Great games on TG EURO NIGHT #3! A lot of hard fighting, a lot of bodies all over the maps and a lot more fun!
Player numbers were somewhere in the 30-40s. I noticed not very much pubbies - most of the players were regulars. Which is a good thing on one hand because it proves that we actually CAN fill up server #1 pretty well on TG EURO NIGHT now, on the other hand i wonder why so few more public players found their way to the server tonight. Is the server listed correctly in gamespy?
Anyway, great night everyone involved.
TG EURO NIGHT is definitely here to stay!
Using "Screen Capture" (http://www.download.com/Screen-Captu...l?tag=lst-0-8), a small program recommended by Exploding_Silver, i was able to take some nice AAR shots tonight.

"GMT (Greenwich Mean Time)"
"EST (Eastern Standard Time)"
I ran a ‘Learn TG’ squad and Morg ran a ‘LearnTG2’ squad
My favorite map was Kartland because my ‘Learn TG’ squad really started to work closely together and attack and defend like server regulars and no fancy tactics either, it was just the good old fashioned and fundamental, sticking closely together and moving on the objective all at the same time. Thx to my squad members.
Anyway, I enjoyed the night and look forward to seeing Dawolf’s pics.

Re: AAR TG EURO NIGHT #3, Thu Feb 23rd 20:00 GMT
I would like to share my view of the evening in a comprehensive style. With colored pictures.
I started out with inheriting Morg's squad on Dalian Plant. Hard battles between Power Plant, Reactor Towers and Construction Site - which we finally took over and held till the end of the map.
Next up was Dragon Valley. We took the Power Plant at the beginning and were on defense from that moment on. We held on for quite a time fighting APCs and tanks rolling in, infantry climbing the roof and hiding in the woods around. Eventually pushed out of Power Plant I noticed that it was their only flag left. After a few tries to take it we set up defense around the woodyard waiting for them come to us. And get some.

Deploying on Karkand where the tide turned and we were pushed around the map a lot. Making a stand between Hotel and Square, on Suburbs and finally taking back the Gatehouse in the last minutes. By pulling out of the then-hot Suburbs, taking trainyard, faking a defense there while running off to Gatehouse where my squad took out the 2 US tanks that were dominating the map for far too long.

On Daqing Oilfields i joined up with the AIR squad and had great fun experiencing the Patch 1.2 changes first-hand
With Douwe21 in the bomber we did some nice bomb runs and some nice crashes. Killing Specops while waiting for the plane to respawn there really was no downtime to the action.
Patch 1.2 introduced metal-detectors to the bombs: Robocop got blown up quite a lot by us.

On Fushe Pass I took a beating. Joining up with Bane2's squad i returned to the ground battle only to learn that you still get killed more easily down there than in a bomber.
Between hiding .....

regrouping ....

surviving...

and getting blown to pieces....

... i still had tons of fun
Last map for me on this night was Mashtuur. With Jazar as SL we hold on to Power Plant.
setting up defense...

manning the mighty tank. covering fire sectors. mowing down approaching enemy waves as they come.

and ehm ... retaking the flag after we lost it

setting up defense again...

and finally moving out to mop them up!

I would like to thank all squad members, squad leaders, teammates and players on the other team for making this a great night to fight.TG-E1st TacticalGamer European Division | Watch this (pretty old) video to find out what TG is all about

Yeah it was a great night of fun, can't wait untill next time
Dawolf and me on Daqing were a real hazard to those concreet buildings and cisterns, i think we make a couple of good dents....
Besides that we bombed like madmen and we were both 1st and 2nd of the round. For some reason i think that Robocop will remember us....
Thanx all for a great battle

Hey..I actually made it into one of those pics taking out a guy with my SVD on Mashtuur
I remember that all squads were full, so I just went solo and sniped. I had a good time on Dalian and FuShee pass.

Re: AAR TG EURO NIGHT #3, Thu Feb 23rd 20:00 GMT
Oh, and I have a theory as to why the server doesn't seem to fill will pubbies when we get it to around 30 people...it's because the maps are running at 32 and most pubbies probably filter the servers at 64 player maps because they want the big battles. At around 5-7PM EST I think we should try changing the maps to 64 player even though we only have in the 30s. I think this will help pubbies find us and fill it up earlier in the day.

Using your brain, I like it, when I used to play pubbies I used to filter for 64 player maps to.

Plenty of Americans are online and playing BF2 at 5 pm EST so I don't see that as applicable, BigG. When I would run filters, I'd always set it to 64 player maps and then SORT the list by ping.

Re: AAR TG EURO NIGHT #3, Thu Feb 23rd 20:00 GMT
I don't sort by ping, that is how I found TG, it was the only unranked server that had lots of players in it I could find. I don't play on ranked servers
