Dalian - ~9:00 - 10:00 8 March

What a great comeback by the USMC team!

On the previous round, Zatar, the USMC had their tails kicked.. Let's try to forget about that round and only remember Dalian Plant!

The round started off with someone on the Chinese side doing a jet insertion to take the south docks. That allowed a bunch of the Chinese to spawn and move in on the reactor towers right after my squad took it.. As the rest of my squad duked it out there, I moved on up to the north docks and my squad respawned on me right as we were taking that flag. At that time, I looked at the map and saw that we had lost the reactor towers and the north docks was the only flag our team had!

It took us quite a while, but we did eventually get the maintenance building flag. By that time, our team was down quite a bit.. Not sure how much, but it wasn't good.

We stayed pretty busy there for a good deal of the round. When the score was around 220 - 300, I noticed that we had the Chinese bleeded and commented about how it was too bad we got off to such a slow start. Then, back to fighting. I didn't look at the scoreboard again until the USMC was in the lead 120 - 80 and had 5 out of the 6 flags! Not sure exactly how it happened, but it was a helluva turnaround!

Nice job to the FUNKADELIC squad, the rest of the USMC team, and to our CO, C4_SGT_YORK!

The PLA can blame me for the loss if they want.:b Since there was a jet being unused I decided to make my TG air debut. Although my kill to death ratio ended up about 2 to 1 I don't think I was very effective at all. Oh well...for a first try I was satisfied.

My tg debut today was so terrible, I gotta speak about it, zatar, like 8 deaths..0 kills, now thats what I'm talkin about. I was geting all these orders, and I was like hell ya I'm gonna drop some bombs. didn't kill one soul. Probably was getting laughed at by the infintry, while they were mooning me.

Aren't jet insertions against the rules? I've seen more and more people do it recently. It gives a huge advantage to the team doing it so I'd like to know if it's allowed or not.

Mind explaining why it is agaisnt the rules? It's not like it isn't realistic or anything, people jump out of planes in real life too. Okay, so maybe not going as fast, but people do it. Also, it isn't like it's hard to shoot a guy out of the air.

People don't use 25 million dollars airplanes to get from point A to point B and then ejecting while it crashes.

Realism isn't the point anyway, jet insertions allow one team to capture the most important points and mount a good defense before the other team even gets close. It comes down to who spawns closest to the jets wins, not exactly an exciting gameplay feature.

Although I think it's not realistic, you guys gotta admit sometimes on dalian it makes that map a lot more fun if you let the USMC have a flag. The times suck whenever they can't even get a flag.

Yea, but it was the Chinese team that did the jet inerstion this round... I saw the empty J10 on the map as I was driving my boat in. It allowed them to get the south dock flag and have an attack mounted on the reactor tower flag as we were landing and getting organized. Basically, we were in quite a tough spot from the get-go because of it. With a touch more cooridination, the Chinese could have all 6 flags before the USMC touches land and the round wouldn't be fun for anyone.

I also see these jet insertions done on just about every round of Zatar I play.. It's quite obvious when I see the empty jet go floating south of the center island...

For the brief moment I got to play last night it was in this squad. Nice comeback win and it was a good group. We appeared to be wreaking havoc on their attack choppers from the maintenance building. Good job!

The attack on the reactor tower originated out of the Main Entrance. We took our buggy though and zipped into the flag from the south side near your chopper before moving in towards the flag.

It was a fun round, especially defending the Reactor Towers. I apoligize to those in my squad as I left early that round for a phone call.

Good fun in perry's squad last night. That was a helluva comeback for USMC -- hard fought all the way.

I actually DID get some cheap "run over a person with the buggy" kills last night south of the Warehouse while driving from building to building to maintain cover. I'll admit it -- when I'm driving, I just love it when part of an enemy squad is out in the open AND in my path.

I blame mantis.

I'm not really sure what happened in that round, as I spent 80% of it defending a back flag that never got attacked. The other 20%, I tried to man up the empty attack helo with other equally inexperienced chopper pilots, and just did lots of crashing into things. Didn't do much to help the team, I'm afraid.

It did look like the folks at Reactor Towers were getting worked pretty hard by the USMC air power. I was amazed at how long they held it.

Well, first off yes, what a great comeback. It was not easy and I was SHOCKED that we pulled it off.

Also, if you get in a transport chopper and people are standing on the deck, and you take off without them, you should NOT be wearing the TG tag. Even when requesting pickup, no effort was even attempted to turn back to let people on. That right there made me quite angry and even more so when I saw the person had a TG tag.

Other than that we fought hard the entire time between the North Docks and the Reactor Towers. That place was crawling with folks! AT rockets zooming by, grenades landing next to you, APC's firing from up high, .50's going off, teams trying to outflank each other and jockey for position..... MAN! That was one of the most memorable BF2 experiences ever! Good times fellas.

Actually I rarely see jet insertions on Zatar even if it's the map you'd expect it most. When I play Zatar I always get a buggy right when I spawn and go straight for the Central Island, depending on where I spawn, it can be a very quick drive to the island and I usually get there way before anyone else.

If you see an empty jet then yeah it's obviously a jet insertion but I'm just saying it's very possible to get there quick without a jet.
