    Friday Night Games (4/21-4/22)

I wish I could point to the high points of the great games we had tonight on Daquing or Mashtuur or some of the other maps. But honestly, it's something of a blur because it's late and I was laughing too much at teh chatter between my squadmates Bommando, Beatnik, JMJ, Icky, and Shakey and others who came and went through the night. Between JMJ and Beatnik's increasing lack of sobriety and Bom's ravings, I could hardly stop laughing all night.
Daquing was super close...6-0 USMC win I think it was. Santa was SL and we spent a good part of the round trying to take Power Plant from a tough squad while also keeping an eye to the UCB for arty and Viper in the chopper.
Mashtuur was back and forth for most of the round before the MEC pulled out a 30 point victory. There was some great action at South Gas and around the USMC arty but honestly, that map was all about JMJ's descent into a drunken haze that had him spouting anything and everything. Not to mention Bom and Beatnik picking at each other like two old ladies fighting over over the last of the bannana pudding. Like someone in the squad mentioned at one point, I wish to God I had an audio recording.
Also ran around on some N@W maps with Beatnik, JMJ and Perry before hitting server one. Looking forward to Monday night. It should be some fun times.

Yeah that was a great nite. Definitely not a dull moment the entire time. Between falling corpses as weapons, ATV races, shooting jets out of the sky with tanks, camping AA for attack helos, my tirade on Karkand, and holding down the Hotel on Oman, it was a top notch nite. Then came Mashtuur and Dragon, which were both good games, with a ton of...additional hilarity. We had some great moments of assaulting and defending on Mashtuur. My favorite Mashtuur moments were Bommando calling out JMJ's "drunken insubordination" (and JMJ's reply), and me going engy, landing the BH on our dead arty, and mowing down the fireteam keeping it down with the BH's gun. Dragon, well what can be said about that except Bommando's best quote of that map "Guys, why are you all RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY MACHINE GUN?!?"

When JMJ sobers up, I hope he remembers that Karkand round and why it probably caused him to continue drinking

I sat in my little vodnik on the far side of the bridge for probably 90% of the round. I died once towards the beginning when some guys made it to the center island. And my buggy got blown up once but I had gotten out of it before I was killed and was promptly revived.. I think the USMC got "feet dry" on the east side about once for a grand total of maybe 10 seconds. You guys sure didn't do much to keep me entertained as the only defender actually on that side of the river for a great deal of the time.

Sure was funny watching the hummers come barrelling down the hill and flying straight in to the water because of the blown bridge

Which he promptly did, but I was there in a nade chuckin' mood. My squad said "Bailers over the Mosque", "How many?" I asked, "Just one" was the reply. Just one guy trying to take the Mosque? Is he crazy, then I learned it was JMJ of course.

I don't even know what happened on Mashtuur. My squad defending the backyard the whole game and we saw very, very little action compared to every other squad. I seriously do not know how we got best squad on that round. Though now I know why we had 2 squads at the Hill and US arty was still going off. Jusb and Hellrazor's 2 man sniper team liked to pick on us at the backyard but they always got what they deserved.

No comment for Karkand, I've said it many times before. Without armor, the US can't break through. If you are going to remove the armor, make it 32 player version please.

Oilfields was great. Perry and I don't make a very good chopper team to start with and on top of that, it seemed like Kilrogg and Eggplant had a tracking device on us because anytime we left the UCB, one of them would take us out pretty fast. Lots of laughs still, I couldn't fly at all tonight and Perry's missle aiming was piss-poor.

Dragon Valley was a complete team-stack against the Chinese. I'll admit that because I was on the US and while it was fun for us, it was surely miserable for them.

Finally Sharqi. Where to begin - "Bommando, you need to calm down!". It's just a game and you don't need to curse out your squad everytime you die. I understand why though, whoever was in the MEC APC went like 40-1 and most of those kills were from our squad. We chased it around the whole map like 3 times before we actually took it out. O yea, Santa has wall hacks, he fired a TOW over a hill and blindly hit the APC on the other side of it.

I belive I was commanding that round (something I dont normally do, unless no one else takes the helm), was pretty intense, honestly I was doubting us for the majority of that round, something I shouldnt have, ill try not to in the future.

Nice to see everyone following orders. I'd like to thank you all for the great games on Friday, and I hope to see alot more in the future.

But most importantly, I never lost the south gas station on Mashtuur

AH what a night. I heard so many God *amns I'm probably going to Hell just by association. Great having you in the squad Heph. Last night ranks as probably one of my top two or three nights of BF2 entertainment. The quote of the night without a doubt was Bommando saying "Beatnik just pick whatever kit your not completely useless at".

It was nice to see Beatnik taking all that heat because I was probably dying twice as frequently. For some reason it seemed to be the night of instant death.

Although Beatnik DID drive our humvee right into the middle of a cluster of enemies and then stop, yelling "they're all around us!"

Edit: He promptly died, but I managed to take the wheel and get the hell out of there.

Icky you should know better than to ride when Beatnik's driving. If there was a single tree in the desert, he'd hit it.

I was the first person who got a face full of BH mini gun when you did that. I don't know how I missed you Beatnik, when you landed I was prone and I could see your ugly mug clear as day and I started unloading with my support gun. Well I missed because I am a bad shot but that's besides the point.

The frustrating part of that whole Mashtuur round was everytime I went AT to take down the BH or a Humvee parked somewhere mowing people down all there was was infantry. I then go back to Support and there is the BH, Humvee's all over. I finally said screw it I'll stay Support. Good games for sure

Well, this thread explains a lot. I was in a sniper squad on Dragon Valley near the Wood Yard . I saw a bunch of friendly armor roll in along with a chopper. I thought they were trying to knock out an enemy APC. I realized the APC they were firing at (from all directions) was a friendly - Beatnik. I was wondering what he did to earn such abuse. No offence to Beatnik, but it was pretty funny to watch...from a distance.

Geez - It's good to see ya'll having so much fun right along with us - I haven't read this much chatter in an AAR about just sheer entertainment in a long time!

I was with Jaymind and Clawhammer when they SL'd - fantastic times! I sure died a lot.. but fantastic times! I'm glad they were tolerant of my seemingly morbid fascination at running over mines in whatever vehicle I was in an studying the effects..

    - There was always that moment - right after the explosion of the mines when I recall the voice of a player.. seemingly in the distance.. saying 'watch out for the mines'.. I watched out for 'em.. and would find 'em.. right where someone left 'em.

    Good times!

Good times indeed and kudos to Jaymind and Clawhammer; most excellent SL'ing.

You like mines, I seem to attract artillery (Karkand if I recall while waiting for squad 6 to show up ).
