TacMod 4.28 Early Evening...

I'm gonna say it was from 7pm EST till about 9pm EST when the server crashed.

Those were some really fun small intimate battles. My favorite had to of been the entire Gulf of Oman round where it Drunk and the Irregs (TG Learn) squad kept facing off. At one point Drunk followed us from the USMC base to the MEC village (?) flag and capped my entire squad. We had some pretty entertaining conversations with Drunk the whole time. He'd taunt us with, "I saw you at the last minute and followed you." We'd reply, "Well, don't follow us." It went back and fourth the entire round. It was a lot of fun.

Then around 9pm the server crashed and I wasn't really in the mood for vanilla so I set up the events server with a few of the EF maps and hoped that some peeps would join me. Unfortunately it was only Troublesome4U and I. We'd tested out the weapons, the vehicles and just had fun flying the planes around, choppers around the maps and driving the tanks. I have to say though, the vanilla planes are a pita to fly with a mouse and keyboard but the EF planes are easy to fly.

Too bad you didn't join us on vanilla there Chicken. We had some tremendous battles. Mad props to Jaymind for leading us on every map.

I actually did join vanilla. But wasn't there long enough for me to spawn the first time. I decided I paid for EF and played it maybe once so I decided to load it up and play it.

I was really in the mood for TacMod but no one went back after the server came back up.

It was exciting to see the tac mod server active. I think that's twice or thrice now that server #2 was not only seeded but picking up steam and had more players that server #1. Once the box went down hard, it looks like most of the players went to server #1. At that point it's hard to beat a populated server.

Yeah, I figured as much. I changed the Events server so it read TG Euro Forces in hopes that people would notice and come play EF with me. I had thought about making a post but it was getting late and knew that I'd only be on for another hour or so.

When I checked server 1 there were 60 people on. I just wanted the slower game of TacMod last night.

Re: TacMod 4.28 Early Evening...

For the last three nights there has been some action on ser 2 tac mod from approx 6pm EST to 8pm EST. This has been small teams doing infantry only.

On Friday night what happened was; 6 off us on a pub raid, Sassy came onto TS channel and asked us to join TG server, we said the round ws almost over, a few mins latter we see ser 1 empty and ser 2 had 2 on, so on we hopped. Further people logging on saw the action on ser 2 only and so it snow balled.

I'm really sold on tac mod now, its great and squad leading has to be different. Also i can shoot accurately at long range now and thats a great skill for tac mod.

Re: TacMod 4.28 Early Evening...

Yeh those were some fun pick-up games.. I do think Saturday afternoons (US) and Euro Prime will be good times to run a TacMod event. I'll post this in the development forum as well... but how would it be to remove the armor from ALL 16p TacMod maps? We always have to setup rules to not use them.. so lets just dump them period.

I started server one being with the USMC at Oman toward the end of the battle. The Corp had it all but rapped up.
Next came the Songhua stalemate. I joned up with Marstien's squad. We spent some time taking back the Fish Factory. Our squad leader was holding back ofcourse and the rest of the squad was struggling to capture the flag. After about the fifth spawing i was up on the corridor facing the flag and commited a cardinal sin. I was being engaged with rifle fire from the northern passage. i bunny hopped, then ran forward, then jumped and did the cheap prone in the air dive move. I got a super cheap kill. I apologies for diminishing that players gaming experience.
I never got into the habit of doing that, maybe my survivial instincts are starting to come out.

after that match i switched teams, and took up as 1 Squad Leader. We were at Mashtuur City. I decided to defend the hotel. I was quicly joined by squad members. NO soner had everone else pulled out, we got hit by arty and took 3 KIAs. Seconds later a transport helo came at us and ejected some zappers. We defended well. wusspypoo, sumluv, Fishing__Fool, Grandpa, .... i can't remember or last go, sorry; were the members of the squad. Killrogg is a darn good sapper, and the enemy kept our engineer busy repariing our stuff. our 0-6 Thundeer did well. I could not hear him very well but the icons did all the talking. the squad was ordered to attack powerstation. We moved in close but were pushed back futher and furhter, until we were sent back to defend hotel. Guess who was there, the ultimate sapper, Killrogg. My C4 blast got his teamemate, put Killrogg lived through it. Killrogg jumped in our Vodnik, i ran in close to stay away from the 50 cal, so he promptly jumped out and wasted me. Our squad must have pissed off the Power Station becuase they returned the favor shortly after we got back at hotel. Another squad helped and we repulsed the advance. After that the match was all but won. My crew (sumluv did a lot of good work here) put down some great supressive fire from the hotel as another squad moved in on the Mosque. It was a great win.

The wetlands same date and squad. Our squad was not the fastest movers, but that was cool cause we captured the Farm while everyone else poured west. After setting up defense Thundeer ordered us to defend Natural Gas station. As sooned as we moved in and set up camp we moved in to the Central Iland to defend. There was a lot of enemy presence and we were killed before getting our boots dug in. I was disappointed with the CO with that. the squad moved into a position that was already under attack and currently pourly defended. We could not even set up defense. Thundeer is a good Blitzer, but our rear flags were not even defended. No big deal, our team was putting such a frontal assult that the enemy did not have much of a chance to go through the back door. (more on that later) Plus i do not know all the details like the CO. do not get me wrong, Thundeer did a great job cause we won with a good lead. the squad respawned at the nat gas station. we defend well. There was virtually no bombers in the sky for the USMC. Either that our they had their hands full with our Blitz. We got orders to head out again, and the squad did a horrible job getting there. I was mostly to blame cause i wanted to go south and then flank them from the south. But that really made no sence seeing how we had to take the same southern road into the flag. Our repsonse was so slow that the CO just had us defend at our current location. OUr squad basically watched the teams six. Later after a couple of my crew secured the Farm, we defended some more and then were told to defend the Iland. We got there in desent time, and had some zappers. Fishing Fool secured the enemy gunship, and we took off. At this point the Nat gas and farm were not defended. I decided to patrol the north eastern portion of the central iland. I felt like if a pushed west i would do more harm than good cause we had guys all over the west side. My insticts were sound cause we saw a boat appraching from the cannal. The gunner quickly shot up the boat grabing three kills. no sonner was that over with, we saw a transport helo heading for farm. If i was a better piolit they would have never gotten close. Fishing__Fool wasted three more by taking out the chopper, but we did not know if there were any survivors. next thing i know the gunship is smoking hard and we died trying to head back for reparis. That was the best part of the evening, taking out that boat and chopper. However, there were survivors or we missed a transport cause the farm quickly went USMC soon afterward. By then the match was won.
half way through the game I accedently shot and killed someone in our own team while defending nat gas station. Sorry about that one. When you are a poor shot you tend to compensate by trying to shot first. My medics could not get there in time to save him/her.
Besides that and the slow moving to the iland that one time, squad one did well.

Re: TacMod 4.28 Early Evening...

lol Drunk thats awesome.

Yeah, we weren't booking it across the street by the gas station. We were trying to move in a column and each one of us was trying to cover a specific direction. Next time we'll use claymores and smoke to conceal our movement.
