Re: Tac Mod Scrim Wake Island Rocked!
OK ok... i told myself i wasn't going to read this. I was already feeling bad LOL. But here's the Bravo CO's take.
I think we had a chance on the Steel Thunder, and props out to squad's 3 and 4 for holding the Dam and being Johnny on the spot with reenforcements. I would like to apologize to the 1stMIP and 33rd, you guys kept hitting the flags, but i could never get the coordination right between you to back each other up. Props to the 33rd Armor Corp for their repeated attempt on the warehouse. It must have been a nightmare through those woods with all that armor and AT fire. Kudos to the Aplpha squad in the trees...da#m AT monkeys!
Wake...what do I say? I was suffering from shock until I read all the posts here. The 1stMIP lasted all of 30seconds?!?! at North base. One second they call for back up, the next the flag goes gray, and then boom...I've got more marines on my beach than a 3 day pass in Bangkok!!! I for the life of me could not figure out what happened. It got so bad, I pulled 3 squads off their flags just to assault the North Base, and still could not get a break!! Way to go Alpha. Wish I could have seen this great assault...think it should be in textbooks. Kudos to my assaulters, not much else I could do except throw more men into the grinder. Pats on the back to my Island defense squad/swimmers
At one time I had 5 guys defending all three flags, you guys never complained although I'm sure there wasn't much action for you all. Way to take one for the team.
Inishial...I'm SLing the 33rd and I blame myself for our failure to deliver. We always seemed to get to our goal then die in front of it. Not sure what happened but it seemed like we bled out awfuly fast, looked up we were down 30 tickets, looked again and the game was almost over! I think our squads issue was me playing like vanilla night...bad Experiment, bad! Those long respawn times add up. I should have turned it over to Sumluv who had some prior experience from the other two maps.
Hats off to Alpha...as the mountain Dew commercial goes..."We got hosed Davie, we got hosed."

Re: Tac Mod Scrim Wake Island Rocked!
You were doing better than I was then! The squad I led kept dying on the way to the objective...
It fealt like everytime I reported into Coridon it was "CO, squad 3, we're all dead, again." It was getting really frustrating for me...just could not deliver for Coridon.
Englishrebel left the game half way through, which brought our squad down to 3 guys total. He was having a terrible time...he kept getting kicked over to the USMC side, then would have to text an admin to get booted back to us.
Props to pjaronex and storm though, they stuck it out, didn't complain, tried to execute on my instructions...I just couldn't get anything together.
Did I mention Wake and Steel Thunder were a lot of fun...
Cheers.

It is the rule in war, if ten times the enemy's strength, surround them; if five times, attack them;if double, engage them; if equal, be able to divide them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them.

Re: Tac Mod Scrim Wake Island Rocked!
Yeah, the east side of the river was too lush in foliage for armor for may tastes. Tanks/APCs only came in for support at the Depot.
Looks like u'alls initial deployment did not have Depot in the plans. Fortunatly we had the village supported with armor so u guys could not push there.
Once i spawned in, I hooked up with squad 5 (tanks 4 man squad) and started spotting the enemy as they left the UCB. Nothing went to Depot. Interesting.
U all had a good flank to Damn outpost. The amour came out of no were and the Corp lost the flag.(PO3) Marcinko_R. (BF2 PR .509) Squad Member

Re: Tac Mod Scrim Wake Island Rocked!
Actually yes...although very incomplete I'm afraid...
Perhaps of some use:
Half of the players from the Chinese side
Of much less use:
Boat doing a crazy "wheely"

Any chance that a video exists for this one great night?

Re: Tac Mod Scrim Wake Island Rocked!
I wonder what it would be like to do a retro night or scrim using this mod?
