Spies Like Us 11/10 German

After the watermill went German, our squad slipped towards the camp where we did the majority of our fighting early in the game. After eliminating the defenders we were able to hold that flag against multiple assaults until the Ukraine was down to one flag, the Watermill. We then began to see multiple squads hitting our flag and were able to hold for a little while. In the meantime we started losing flags all over the map and went from a 60 ticket lead with 100 to go to a 20 ticket defeat. Seems that when we do have a 4 flag advantage, there are always some SL's who push on that last flag opening up the opportunity for the enemy to come back. I won't editorialize on how the Germans grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory, but do want to thank the guys who did follow orders in my squad tonight.

Brock Landers, ZA Kimber and Cpt Cuervo did a solid job as medics. Tau Neutrino and VMF214 Coup were always up front as assault clearing the enemy as they moved in and Tysn did a great job with a variety of kits. Thanks again guys for making the squad a blast!

You can thank thundeer for loosing that round for the German team. He thought German victory was assured and said, "Come on you smokers and jokers!" Of course taunting the 33rd isn't a very smart thing to do. We shot him, all teabagged his body, wiped out his entire squad, and took his flag. lol

Re: Spies Like Us 11/10 German

That was the most awesome round of POE2 ever. Ukraine started the round badly. Slowly we got pushed down to one flag and had problems holding more than that. Once Germany even had us down to no flags. But a sense of determination welled up and Ukraine rallied. Slowly we pushed Germany back to two flags and held them on bleed. Little by little we ate at our deficit and caught even with only minutes left in the round. By the time the clock ran down, Ukraine emerged victorious. I dont know how it was done since we had no commander, but it was a thing of beauty.

Props to my 33rd bethren Sumluv, Dark Viper, Calvin, derdmeh, and NorCal. That was a display of squad teamwork that was rare form. Yall never gave up even when it looked all was lost. Shoutout to Thundeer whose banter gave us a boost to deliver a beatdown. He started taunting us in chat when we had no flags, only Viper was left alive with me, and no one could spawn in. I stayed alive until a flag was secured and we spawned in to continue our assualt on the Watermill. Our mission was to kill and teabag Thundeer, then capture the flag. Luckily, I was the first to find and kill him. Good stuff, bro.

Awesome round, TG. Games like that are why I love this place.

Re: Spies Like Us 11/10 German

LOL took you guys long enough though was the only round where i led (and had a full squad), had a bunch of new faces in there (sorry i'm terrible w/ remembering names, speak up if you were in the squad!), who did an absolutely AWESOME job defending that watermill flag. for the first half of the round, until i had to ruin it lol. no way i was sticking around after that, spawned on the flag as it went neutral and ran for it thanks to all of my SMs for following orders wonderfully, even if it was defense around the area between the north flags for pretty much the entire round.

but i think fallen more than made up for it joined up with egoatboy's squad, with drizzid, tothopper, zigrum, luuser. fantastic squadleading by goat, and we didn't do that shabby of a job either against the mighty 33rd dont worry guys i wont reveal what happened =o

those were some great rounds everyone! and next time i'll remember to keep my mouth shut and let my gun do the talking...

EDIT: looking at bane's screenshot, i can pick out jeonjihyeon, projectNA, greystroke, cptCuervo, who served with me on spies like us. anyone else speak up!

Re: Spies Like Us 11/10 German

Good times. Great games. From saving Private Viper to Thundeer's taunt it's a night to remember.

Although we did lose on Fallen I had most satisfying kill ever. I was frustrated cause I couldn’t hit anything so I went to the trusty shotgun the make myself feel better. Someone spotted an enemy hiding behind some rocks. I ran over only to see this guy, kneeling, with his back to me. It wasn’t enough to shoot him in the back. I started nudging him in the back with the barrel of my gun so he would turn around. He finally did and I blasted him point blank in the face. I usually never do stuff like that but I had to release my stress. Call it shotgun therapy. I had hoped no one saw my crime but BaneII witnessed the incident and just couldn’t control his laughter. Sorry to whomever I did that to but it was just one of those nights.

Yes, I was with you Thundeer, and it was a solid squad. However I Deserted you to join my RL friend Kimber who happened to be on Lucky's squad (this is usually not my style, so I apologize).

That was a very memorable game, thanks for the recap! I look forward to the next one.

Re: Spies Like Us 11/10 German

man.. that round was a blast... serious fun.

I squaded joined a 3-man squad with names I'd never seen before. We were all around crash site for most of the round and it felt like me vs. the 33rd all night...

A few highlights:

- getting knifed by derdmeh. I was hiding in some underbrush when I see him charging at me from about 3m to my right. my rifle was in single shot, so i started backing up firing off shots from the hip.. too funny - one of those moments where it seems like slow motion and you <aaaaaaaaAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!>

- the fact that just about everytime I killed someone that round it seemed it was dark-viper... really wierd... he just kept appearing 20m in front of me shooting in the opposite direction.

- sitting in another bush on approach to crash-site, when all of a sudden like 48 smoke grenades go off all around me! so i start slowly backpeddling, surrounded on all sides by like 50ft of smoke in each direction... then BANG! A GP-30 round guided by God, falls from the sky and hits me square in the face! lol! n.s. NorCal

good times good times

Whiskey is my friend whom I knife in the face while he's trying to blow my chest open. Once I put C4 in his Lucky Charms.

Try getting Viper to admit it. One night on Fallen I shot the heck out of him over and over and over again. It was kind of sad actually. He developed a case of amnesia afterward.

You should have been tipped off by an SL yelling "get your GDFing smoke ooooOOOOUUUUT! You BUMS, quit spazzing! Use your heads! ... *surveys the carnage* ... They don't want none of this!" That would be Bane. Expect 5 gunslinging maniacs to come quick on the heals of our level 10 cloud-of-confusion monk spells blasting rockets and grenades everywhere just trying to save ourselves from Bane.

Bane has his own version of TGU for the 33rd which involves cattle prods, mace and music by Wham. "Careless Whisper" used to be my go to romance song. You can thank Bane for ruining that for me and my wife.
