Actionesque PR AAR Vid Al Basrah Feb 23

While the map is being discussed already i played it for the first time yesterday night. I was trying to lead a full insurgent squad into battle, but we got blown up left and right from above.

No, we didn't use the AA kits as I was finding my way around the map for the first time. According to the AAS messages Village is up for the taking but it just won't let you. So we fooled around between North and South VCP, ambushing armor that rolled in. After doing that for about 7 hours Bleak suggested falling back into the city to find some cover from the aerial onslaught. Wasn't much better there but worth a try

I played the map on Extraction mode once and it was great fun as Insurgents, but the AAS style play did not work out for me yesterday. Very frustrating most of the time.

Nonetheless I captured some video material off that night. My first try at video editing - compression settings are far from perfect and i got no ingame sound yet - please bear with me
Being unable to add text to the video i give you a short scene description.

- first off FortuneCookie and me riding Bleaks bike through the desert (Cookies comment: "please dont kill us")
- ambushing an APC in a team effort (sadly the team was wiped out in the process as you can see on the minimap)
- a trapped tank being "TOTALLY EXPLODED" by insurgents
- another tank getting RPG sandwiched on the bridge (how many RPGs does it take? that must've been 4-5...)
- scaring away an attack chopper and blackhawk by using RPG and AA fire
- random covering/shooting
- some getting some from one of the attack choppers

Download here (24mb divx avi)
The focus is more on the action, not on tactics here. Hope you like it.

Love playing both sides of that map. You get a real good feel for what each side is doing and what hurts them the most.

Also kind of weird seeing yourself shot at :P
