    PW night March 22

Well I had the pleasure of leading the Infantry squad tonight on op4. Had a dont remember the map name but along with we tried out his extended platoon through teamspeak. Most of the map my squad spent defending and retake estate. Can't say as I remember a lot but the best moment was when we tried to retake fishing village. Squad 5(Emale) moved in from the west. 4's current position was holding the norther bridge, having recently driven a boat to get there I loaded up the squad and we attempted a beach landing(d-day style) directly on the flag. It failed utterly but did allow squad 5 time to get into position I'd like to thank all participants in my squad tonight.

Ha! Nice - you captured for posterity the fact that all our vehicles somehow ran out of gas at the same time... nothing moved once it reached certain areas around estate. For a bit we tried pushing the APC w/ two heavy jeeps - we pushed it about 20 meters across the rice field, down the hill and then another 30 or so meters toward the building...

That was a fun round... a little frustrating because of ^^ and a few wierd lag spikes that would come up and last for a few minutes at a time, but overall a fun round. Thanks to my squad members (squad6) and bigaayal for an excellent CO job.

    Re: PW night March 22

While things started off poorly, things improved greatly later.

IMO, the order of operations is

    1. CO
    2. APC squad
    3. Transport Hellos
    4. Other.

I have commanded once in .5 and it went really bad.

I tried to get something going for the Corp at EJOD desert with an APC. No go. I team switched and started one with the MEC. Axis joined up. Others joined, then we lost the APC for a while, after two APC squads formed. Axis lost connection, I left, came back, when Corp and experimented with their APC.
They did not miss it, the team was way up North bleeding the enemy and the APC was dormant. BTW, if you saw me join your squad and leave, that was me getting a sniper kit. I’m only fooling. JK. That was me getting an Crewmen kit to start my solo APC squads.
What I found out with the APC vs Tank while testing. Do not even waste a round, bug out and fast. Leave everyone behind, except the engineer, more on that later.

    __

O.k. Q. River loaded up. My favorite map.

I started the APC squad (5) and was by myself for quit some time. My technique was to go by a friendly CP and type: “Special kits and ammo is on me gang.” Then I would check out the map and fall in the infantry squad that was moving toward enemy territory.

The first one I hooked up was 33rd Redbane, they were flanking Fishing Village from the South. I did not want to blow their stealth, so I stayed behind some cover and typed: “Special kits are on me.” It was funny, when a Tank would be spotted, I would type: Do not forget the H. A.T. before leaving gang.”
Dude, I am so paranoid of those damn tanks.

I collected a few kills. We got hit by an arty blast but the ASSAULT RALLY POINT (APC) was still strong.

Another infantry squad spawned in and the assault really got started. I moved up, staying behind the infantry mind you, while THEY capt the Fishing Village.

I got wasted when going deeper into Fishing village I believe and the team headed to the next CP.

Thanks to the really good Air Transport, the Estate was being Assaulted.

I went over there, and got inside the command and got a few kills. Dudes, I was still by myself. I died repairing my APC and then respawned on it cleaned it up and then got the crewmen kit from a grunt squad. I told them I’ll just stay with them, and told them how disappointing it is the APCs are not being used. Waaapurr or someone close to that name, (there are two of them), said they were kicking ass with out an APC.
I did the ol Side Show Bob shudder, and begin to explain to him about the APC, but stopped myself and just left the squad and went back to APC Whoring.

Well, the team had the enemies southern flag and abandoned it to press the last flag, it went white (southern flag), before I could move out, I died and went to hell from a blast.

I had one guy join the squad then. Cool. Later he left.

I think I had one more gunner for a while.

Later, the squad started to pick up when 12thTau and IrrCannon joined up.

Tau was the designated gunner, and Cannon was the Designated Engineer. Awesome performance here people. Both did an excellent job. Never lost a fight to an enemy APC. Tau on the Sabot rounds and Cannon repairing, no way man.

Tip: Never leave your Engi behind, you will live longer. The engi is da man in the squad and gets the first case of beer after the AAR, and getting cleaned up.

The APC team had a great medic when Ferrius joined up. We were able to get the mobile medical support going.

Snogguns, my have came in before the TG guys, donnu, but I remember him liking the zoom function on the tank (I believe) and he did some nice gunny work also. Later the poor guy kept trying to get the Heavy AT to better protect the APC from tanks and it was only two on the map and they were always taken. NNOOOO!!!

Blind helped by watching the six of the APC when we where defending our supporting an assault.

The Corp had a CO for the last five minutes of the battle. Once the PLA got a CO, about ¼ of the way into the battle, they started to make a nice comeback with arty strikes and coordinated assaults.

That’s where the APC squad came in. We repulsed them like no other.

Using my technique of driving to the closet friendly CP and topping the grunts off with special kits and spawns, we prevented a massive assault (the Corps most southern flag).
We dropped two APCs (thanks to Cannon) and stayed nestled inside the compound while the grunts kept spotting the Tank, again, no H.A.T. to be found.
O.K. that assault was over. I screwed up and left the flag to support at Government assault. Silly me, I thought the APC was the Assault Rally point, not defenders. The flag we just left was left empty and white.
No worries, we put her in reverse and destroyed the APC that was right on the flag orb. Worse spot ever to set up the ASSAULT RALLY POINT PLA!!

We never were able to get out of there it was so hot. The APC blew up good. The team was able to get Government, cool. Guys like snogguns, Blind, and tau where still there helping out.

There was only a few tickets left before we got the old squad back together again. When we spawned in, I noticed a heavy jeep with a TOE. I was like, what the blank, where was this thing at for like two hours.

I was very impressed with the Squad. No way it works with players who are not committed to the strategy.

I was shocked that we got best squad. Hell, half the map it was me in the back of the APC reading my fav magazine: “How to avoid tanks.” And staying low and under cover.
They must have played the entire round and broght their points to the squad.

How I got the most flag defends (9) was questionable. Tau should have gotten those. Maybe that is how the mod is set up. I also got best transporter. Yay!!

Major shot out to the squad. Sorry for being spastic during those heavy fights (tanks involved).

    Blind
    Snoggun
    Farris
    Tau
    Cannon.

    Thanks for salvaging my night.

    ___
Sorry for being negative, but the APC coordination is piss weak on the server. I wonder if players even glance at the guide asch stickied to the PRM thread, or the SOPs and threads people right up. Granted, I have high standards. However, the Chopper pilots where dynamite. The Corp was like the 7th Air Cav. Sadly, entire squads would leave CPs undefended.

I have already posted this before, but I’ll do again for the FNGs.

    1. The APC squad needs the H. A.T. please let them have it. Ohh, I forgot, first things first.
    1. Start the APC squad, then do number one… uhh, you know what I mean.
    2. If you just have to have the H. A.T., leave the APC squad the heavy jeep with the TOW. Just do not use it for a transport and ditch on the side of the road. The APC and chopper is your transport, the TOE on that jeep is the offensive weapon against the tanks.

    3. Driver/Gunner/Engi. These are the fundamentals.
    4. Infantry, lead first and let the APC follow
    5. Infantry, if you do not need an special kit, get the hell out of the way.
    6. Infantry, spawn out form the APC and secure the Area when enemy is around. Protect the ASSAULT RALLY PONT.
    7. APC driver, when you let infantry out, wait a good couple of seconds and shrink your HUD so you know they got their sniper kit before heading out.
    8. Everyone, stop naming squads teamwork. This is TG, no crap it is teamwork. Name your squad what you do. Unlike Conquest, the Squads need to support each other. Will make things a lot easier for the CO and SLs.
    9. Respect the squad names. You see two APC squads formed, and there are only two APC, do not take friggen APCs if you are not in a squad named APC!
    10. Lastly, protect the APC. Protect the APC.
    11. APC squad leader, do not have allow anyone the H.AT. kit in your squad if on Al Bash. Can’t let the tangos get that. The Chopper pilots know what I am talking about. Plus the savages will use it against you later.

Thanks again squad 5. Proud of you.

Funny how all our vehicles in that area mysteriously stopped driving. Even better was the pushing of the APC. They need tow ropes in this game. We could have had the tank tow the vehicles around.

    John,

Good job leading our band of mis-creants! After you left, we actually almost won. USMC ended up winning by 10 tickets or so, I was surprised that we almost came back to win after such a hughe deficit. Al was a great CO and applied artillery at the opportune time and killed many troops in the open. It was a fun round!
