AAR Video: JohnFlenaly Landing Helo Mar 24
Helo Landing.
A brief video record of JohnFlenaly landing a helocopter to extract a squad at the Estate.
I have been interested for some time now in how the ‘self’ is experienced within first-person point of view games such as Project Reality. Through the use of in-game video, we can add another layer of experience to the game when our actions are recorded for review later on, thus allowing for an external view, a third-person point of view, of our own in-game actions. Thus this brief video, in what may be a series of videos, that re-presents the actions of individuals within the game, adding to their first-person point of view a third-person perspective. This part of my ongoing exploration of the possibilties of virtual video ethnography, a field which is so new, it’s not on google yet!
I have included two versions below. Please tell me which looks better on your monitor (screen). The second version has been rendered with a lightening filter, which will either make it appear easier to see or overexposed, depending upon your own monitor settings. I always set my monitor to 'Day Movie' when in-game, as otherwise I find things to darkly drawn.

For a better viewing experience, download and play.
This will give you a larger 640x480 screen.
Enjoy.Last edited by E-Male; 03-25-2007 at 03:29 PM.

Nice but you have like ten minutes of black after the video.

What are you playing the video in? Nothing I have seems to support it.

With lighting filter looks better on my monitor.
Being about to record all voices in the squad will, I believe, be the jump forward in your movie career. How's that going ?

Nice vid. The lighting filtered one looks best on my CRT @ work (don't tell my boss). Nice flying John! Very smooth approach and landing.

I vote for the filter.
