PR Password Night 3/25 - ITS ON!

I played from the very start for quite a few rounds tonight. Quality of teamplay in my squad was exceptional throughout all games.

Props to all who joined my squad tonight... please report in and share your stories.

It started all on Helmland with low population. I dedicated most of the round to hunting down spawncars as primary objective.

I brought back a trophy collection from that round:

Notice that SLAM on the soon-to-be-junk spawncar?

First take their car, then take their flag:

I put up the attack marker on the car as soon as the squad reported it, i saw it myself or somebody spotted a boat.

After a job well done we also capped flags from time to time

A quick view to my right and to my left:

... and i know we will be fine.

Next map was Goods Station 16 player with a tiny ticket count. The map lasted for about 10 minutes.

I had a few new faces in the squad because of the newly introduced team switching after every round. I am not a fan of re-inviting everybody back (what if I forget somebody!). We took the northern flag and destroyed a RP there. Everybody worked together perfectly and we won by 8 tickets.

Here is the final standoff at the bridge:

"Hold that bridge. We are two tickets ahead."

After that Mao Valley loaded up and new people mixed with squad veterans as we were playing US again (actually I like the variety of side-switching). We were taking care of the Village flag all round long. It was a never ending fight in that jungle.
Again, finding RPs was the main objective. Squad movement was beautiful to watch and so were the fierce firefights around the flag. It turned quite often, and there was never a second to relax. Moving, covering, shooting, dying. Thats the short summary.

Moving in to find that RP north... somewhere around the Defense marker (hidden in that house maybe?)

Tight formation and 360 security while a spotter in the hills provides overwatch.

We lost by 6 tickets. A very close call in the end.

On EJOD Desert we held on to west city for a long time before moving in Ruins in a timed attack with other squads which were taking East City.

    Securing West City flag:

Lighting up an enemy sniper near the flag:

After that it was off to Al Burj (?) where we held on to bridge for a while to let the other squads work on Factory. We repelled quite a few waves of enemy APC/Vodnik/Infantry assaults successfully before moving on to the city.

Securing bridge. That hill to the west attracted MEC forces repeatedly. Just the right moment for Beatnik to grab a marksman kit...

Look, those nasty cars are burning:

Oh no! The bad boys are moving up an APC.

Good games. All well fought and most of them were very close.

Thank you to all squadmembers passing through tonight (what if I forgot somebody!):

    Excellent pics.

    Al Burj? MEC

I went against one of my biggest rules as the APC squad leader. The APC should not go to the Flag Orb. Squad 2 near by seemed to be comfortable staying away from the flag.

That should be the last time that happens. I should have stayed back and let the rest of the team spawn in and help out, instead I blown up good.

Things got works for the APC. H.A.T and Light AT were every where. Seeing how the Mecs had one TG tag out of 15, the MECS did not have much of a chance.

I said, man, these guys are playing for keeps.
PR-dev Geze pointed this out to me and said, " No, the TG clan has everyone on the same side."

    Story checked out.

Thanks to PR-dev Geze, for navigating and being the gunner.
I hate that on password night he witness the stacked teams.

I guess it was one of those gaming deals.

They way I handle new servers is to vote with the esc key and take a mental note. Hope, new players to the server will know that was the exception to the rule at TG. I have not seen anything like that for months and months and months.

The server pop dropped a good 20 units during this.

    ___

Later I joined the PLA at Ghost Train.

BLKOPS Nerd_R_Cool, did one hell of a job as a SL (3) for the PLA at Ghost Train.

He recieved a bronze star. His squad dominated, with him getting most points out of the five.

I pinned the medal on him after the battle. I was the CO, Hehe.

He handled his squad well and used good communication. His arty strikes where right on the money.

His squad was the spear of the assaults, and made things happen.

He understood the fundamentals of the mod and punshied the enemy like no other.

    _________

LLJDtdodamo. Squad 5 leader. Very good here also. This squad covered the six and defended the CPs our team needed to defend to keep the supply lines moving.

He even called me up to make sure things were going well and that the rest of the platoon was adjusting to the battle conditions; very rare indeed.

Good arty and good comms. He commanded his squad well because they did not wonder off and waste the team tickets in the jungle.

The other squads did well also and impressed me.

evilmilkshake got best combat and recieved a golden star for his efforts. Well done.

All the Brits needed to do was seen a chopper over to the PLA fire-base and it would of did a lot to help their cause. Dark Viper would have been all over that, and knifed the CO to boot.
    __

PLA dominated with a 300 point win. The Brits were a sorry lot, their CO was A.W.O.L. the entire match. The arty did get extreme near the end, but I would not dare deny a SL an arty strike, when they confirm it over the comm. It is hard to get SL to request arty. I would not want to retard that. Plus, it was a double assault map, it was not like Hills of Ham.

I look forward to .6 and the new CO design. Hell, I probably be CO all the time with SLs like this.

Re: PR Password Night 3/25 - ITS ON!

Last night was my first password night on the TG server and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I joined just in time for the last 30 seconds of Goods Station (9pm UK) and then had the good fortune to find myself in BLKOPS Nerd_R_Cool's squad on the PLA side in Mao Valley.

It was a round-long struggle to cap Village and maintain and RP in the area as there was at least one USMC squad that must have bloodhound DNA judging by how fast they kept finding them! BLKOPS Nerd_R_Cool and a couple of his fellow BLKOPS clan-mates proved pretty handy at digging out the enemy's RPs and it was an endless back and forth firefight in the hills and valleys around village.

Next map was EJOD where my fellow Sekrit'er and TG Irregular mingmong joined in the fun and used his tank to good effect pinning the MEC around West City early on.

I spent most of this round as a Combat Engineer keeping the 2 tanks operation around West City in one piece between being sniped or banzai charged from behind the big rock to the SE of the West City flag.

If I had one minor gripe, it would be that I felt that the USMC side seemed to lack cohesion later in this round and Squad 4 got locked into a war of attrition just S of West City and never got the support needed to push forward.

Well done to the MEC squads in that area for making us earn every inch of ground we took and held!

Mad Props go out to the members of That Squad on the late night Qwai River round. Despite not having a commander we eventually won the round. Thanks to the guys who stuck with it. I know the teams shuffled a bit, but our squad was solid till the end even though that was the least serious round and most joking round of PR I ever played.

Thanks Dawolf. I thoroughly enoyed being on your squad. You are a good squad leader; I was impressed. Though I have to say all the guys in the squad were inclusive and looked out for eachother. You were a joy to play besides and certainly upped my game. I would have loved to be in it more but my load time dictated I missed out on the next round.

It didn't matter too much as MEC needed bodies to even the teams. So I switched. It was therefore that I met the dastardly repulse of the bridge, though continued my satisfying destruction of spawn points (There was one glitched in the EJOD desert that took me three goes to blow up, my mines saving my life from a hornet of a USMC special ops).

Still, the MEC did get it together for a last stand in the city and factory.

It was so that I was actually PLA and was lucky to serve under BLKOPS Nerd_R_Cool at the Ghost Train, though I wasn't so vocal in that one as it was late by then in England, so unfortunately I missed the opportuntiy to get to know people. Another memorable moment was in that round as we Chinese ferrited outside the tunnels' locked doors whilst the British (sorry I missed your name) called out that they were on the toilet and could we not make so much noise and so. It made it a friendly moment. More friendliness and laughs with C4 as two team members must have laid their's seconds apart and detonated. Of course, eventually, at the doors, one of our team had called out he was going to get C4 so we took the explosion to be his when the doors finally went. Unfortunately he was the 2nd of the two to drop the explosives just after one another and so he blew half of us up as we rushed in - thus I missed the glorious taking of the toilets but enjoyed the smiles and laughs of the squad as realisation set in.

Thanks to the guys in my squad late in the morning for me (again I had to keep my voice low because of the lateness) it was good getting to know you before I had to sleep. And thanks again Dawolf.

Was it just me, or was that the longest round EVER on Qwai River last night?

It seemed like the Fishing Village and the Government Office changed hands about 4 times a piece, before the Chinese finally pushed East to the other flags.

I spent most of my time piloting the transport chopper with a gunner, trying to lay some hurt down from above. Then we'd take a few heavy shots and have to go lumbering back to repair at the base. It wasn't til late in the round when we finally saw the Blackhawk circling overhead. That had us running for cover more than once.

I could hear some of the TOC guys saying their spawn times were approaching the 2-minute mark, since they had died so many times during that marathon round.

Yeah that was a 2-hour round. Those lengthy rounds are getting ridiculous. I hopped in as CO for the PLA just to get everyone together and end the map already.

Qwai River lasted 1:50 and I had a great time. It was pretty much a stalemate up until the last 30 minutes or so. Some great action and battles off of the flags.

As for the spawn timer, I believe they cap out at 60 seconds.
