    Profiles in Courage: Sam Hoy

    I have often followed various skilled players around watching the way they move, how they use cover and such things. Playing around with BattleDirector today I realized that we can make video ‘profiles’ of each other – third-person videographic records that focus on a single player’s in-game action. I have long wanted to get a record of some of the more skilled players such as Santa for post-analysis. Now I just have to find Santa in PR…

    The following is a brief demonstration of this concept using Sam Hoy as my subject. I did not have a lot of time to spend getting things perfect.

    I was quite pleased to realize that FRAPs was recording the in-game sounds around Sam. Turn the volume up load to fully enjoy. I do not catch the best of Sam here, we see him buy the farm a few times. This profile does not really do Sam justice, as he is an extremely effective fighter and excellent team mate. Keep in mind that we all die a few times in virtual war, so I thought it a bit unrealistic if the profiles simply showed flawless victory.

    Just after making this video I discovered how to move the camera more slowly for close-ups, so watch for more polished Profiles in Courage. Now where are Sassy and SugarNCamo…

    dude, when did Wonder Woman become TG's spokes model? Seriously, why is she in there?


    btw - PoE2 server now has BR enabled as well, so you CAN watch santa play if you'd like

    I snapped that picture of a plastic model I picked up at my local comic book shop (boy, do I sound like comic book guy or what..). It is iconic, and TG could use a little more ying to go with all the yang hanging around here. Most of the war gaming culture seems to dwell on men, weapons and such (for obvious reasons). So a female mythical warrior that works for us 'Boomers' as much as it does for the millenials on this server makes sense.

    Keep in mind I make no claim to being the official TG of anything, it is all tongue in cheek. Has its roots in some art stuff I made which combines barbie doll heads with male doll bodies. Good grief, I AM the comic book guy!

    With BattleDirector has a render audio function so you dont have to get lucky with fraps sounds.

    That is nice too watch. Funny how he starts of getting wasted . Makes up for it then though.
