Jabal 19(euro) april Jabal. CO report.

When I rejoined the game, it was well under way. Seeing some decent squads I took up CO. The used strategy offered decent control, by having one cp locked down pretty much.

At the start the us had taken the factory, and squad 4 (mip) was ardently defending the east city with 5 i believe. Squad six with Santa was still up at bridge with a rally. Expecting them to do much damage, they could stay there.

Soon enough the squads were able to recap the factory. All squads were alerted that squad six was in position to take the flag, as I expected them to, even though they were probably in the midst of the enemy reinforcements.

Six capped it with the help of squad 2 who were ordered to move south from factory to take the hill west of bridge. At the same time 3 moved on to capping dam. First bridge came our way, and immediately after that dam.

Squad 3 then showed quite good initiative. As you can see in this screenshot.

They did leave dam unordered, but we were able to attack west beach now and they had moved there very quickly. Four and 2 were pulled of the city and bridge respectively to assist at dam.

In the next screen 3 has made it to west beach and capped it, yet dam has been greyed. Four has been driven back, but 2 has been ordered to attack dam by taking the south road.

Eventually they chose to go through the dam, 4 came back in and they retook it. Squad six from whom I expected a little more, were now holding bridge on their own, as they would until the end of the round. They should have had 5 for backup but infidels blocked them by blowing the bridge.

In the last screen 3 is going to recap west beach, and five is finally moving south on the far right of the map. The round ended before they got there though .

It was an interesting game, and the first time I co-ed this map. The main strength of our team seemed to be a firm defense of bridge, combined with quick attacks from 3. I think bridge is by far th emost important flag on this map. It is in the centre of the map, and it is right next to the highest point on the map. Then you just use the mip to fill in the gaps .

The ideal plan I had in mind was to have 1 squad on each hill at the bridge (NW, NE, SE). Unfortunately that never happened, but the other squads made up for the enemy's disruptions. It all unfolded twice as fast as I had foreseen.

What I really like as a CO is to have a squad(s) that is really good at attack 6 in this case, and 3, and with that squad(s) that shine in defense (4), yet aren't so fast and deadly at times .

Oh, by the way Al, let me say two things:

    1) I was the SM who kicked you when I joined. That's twice in around a week. Stop making me feel guilty, become an SM already!!!

    2) I then took your spot in E-males squad, which left you squadless when you rejoined, which meant you decided to CO.

Anyway, squad 4 (E-male) defended City and USMC never made a genuine push on the flag. AbyssGaze (I believe) manned the AA there and downed a few helos as they approached. Otherwise, we didn't see a lot of action, which is really surprising.

On our approach to the Dam we started losing more squad members to the supporting member kick. Finestyle, RunRiotUK, and AbyssGaze all fell victim. You guys are giving me grey hairs trying to maintain cohesion when the guy next to you suddenly screams like a stuck pig and dissappears from the server!

Good times, though. Once we reorganized we helped clear the top of the Dam and hold it while the tickets ticked away...

The "E-male moment o' humor" goes as follows:

E-male starts rambling in TS trying to talk to BigGaayAl when I first join the squad.
I tell E-male that Al is not in Teamspeak.
E-male responds with something like "I can hear Al's voice...how do I still hear Al's voice? He's no longer in the squad. Where's his voice coming from?"
    Me: "Al's CO'ing"
E-male: "Oh, that's why I can hear him..."

Last night was a blast, some great SLing by BigGaayAl and E-male (great CO from BigGaayAlon the map in question too).

City was very quiet, but judging by the screens, USMC never had a chance to make a decent push for city. Maybe that's what the helos were for, it did look like they were trying to make drops near the city, but as you say Coridon, they didn't really get a chance with the AA in full swing, especially with us up on the roof to pick off survivors (not that there were many!)

Get any good video last night E-Male? I did hear you mutter something about strolling round at the bootom of the dam, taking shots for "the tourists"...

Good game, pretty close in the end, IIRC. There were a few really good games last night, I got disco'd about 2am GMT (server crash?), so I just went to bed at that point.
