Fun game - Qwai - 04.24.07 ~20:00 CT?
One of the rare times when I actually played commander, I was surprised at how fun (and somewhat rewarding) the role can be. I have to say that the team I commanded performed very well. I don't remember the names of the SLs but generally speaking they all did remarkably well. All squads were prompt and quick to respond, and performed their roles very well (Squad 1 & 3 recon/ defense A+, Squad 2 & 5 Assault/ Defend A+, Squad 4 Support/ Air/ Transpo A+). As a result the Chinese team won by a pretty large margin. Once again, I congratulate TG for having the best teamplay coordination and experience there is amongst the pubbies.

Awesome! It's great to see new players try out the CO chair. Well done.

I was CO on the opposite side I believe.
At first I was quite frustrated, and we had a considerable amount of one man squads which didn't make it easy. In hindsight though I'd made the error of keeping too many squads in the fishing as we lost facility. So on that the chinese team beat us through better teamwork and tactics. Nicely done.
After that (only about halfway through the round) it went down hill seriously though as the opfor was allowed to attack pigfarm. No problem there, but once we had retaken facility, they were still keeping our squads pinned down at pigfarm. This gave us no fair chance to come back as I'm sure the us team would have. I stepped down because the squads weren't moving out of pigfarm as I requested nor telling me why. Only when I joined a squad and re-spawned on pigfarm did I realize they were still pinned down.
I regret that people on the Chinese side did not report the individuals even though admins were present and constantly offering their services. Apparently getting killed in your base is not so bad if it doesn't happen to one's self. I think the rules are clear so that if facility is grey, no Chinese may attack the pigfarm. As a co I always use specific care in warning squads that are near a ucb about the conditions in which they may attack it.What it's like to play online games as a grown-up:http://s3.amazonaws.com/theoatmeal-i...e_gaming/1.jpg

Hmm, my post on this topic last night went poof....
I was leader of Squad 2 on the Chinese side. It was a great game and we had a good, competent CO who placed a lot of importance on defense. My squad was in some pretty intense fights over Fishing and later Processing, with a lot of defense work afterwards. I did note a few times when we were sent from Gov't to Pigfarm, then to Processing - no, back to Pigfarm - no, back to Processing - within the span of about two minutes. I guess this was that time when Pigfarm was being camped, but I didn't notice anything wrong right away. The CO seemed to be trying to relocate squads, and anyways my squad's full jeep was being used as target practice by an APC.
I did talk to one or two of my squaddies about TG and encouraged them to participate in the forums and password nights. They seemed pretty thrilled to be playing with a member.
