    woodlands, thurs 930 est

Had some rounds tonight with really good squadplay, though we kept getting beaten, sometimes badly... This woodlands round, though, I thought was fantastic... Big shout-outs to QPS civilian, your own serious Turtle, cyco105, MajCatastrophe, and XRJ Belegaron (sorry on the spelling..) We Germans started out with a plan to run hard for the watchtower and hold that, since we were the biggest squad and all...

That didn't work, of course. On that hard run for the tower, I did a great job of messing up as the driver of that shifty jeep... I let us out on the steep side of the hill where you can't run up, and by the time we got around the ukes were in place for a firefight that they won. Hmm. We tried for a bit to pressure the tower from the North, and in the meantime our other squads had taken the mine and encampment to the south. At this point our squad switched to D for the mine and the Northern (cabin?)flag.

That didn't work, of course. We soon lost that cabin, and had to make a couple runs at it to get it back, during which time cyco made a couple nice defensive stops at the mine, which we had left him alone to guard... Nice work, cyco: I saw you drag it back to our side from the grey twice... We recapped the cabin and made for a position just north of that east-west road to try to ride out the bleed (at this point, tickets were like 30-60, them winning but bleeding w/ only one flag.)

That didn't work, of course. While the typical battles raged at watchtower amongst the enemy and our other squads, the ukes took back their encampment. Our tickets were running out, and we had to try the desperation raid to reclaim that third flag... Qps Civilian stayed up to defend the cabin, cyco was busy fighting them off at the mine, and the rest of us bolted south for the encampment. And...

That didn't work, of course. We did a great job of getting down there unscathed, and we were well positioned to cap the flag, but that pest Bane was there... There might have been others, but I have a sinking feeling he was kicking our butts alone... I did a dumb thing by getting right in the middle of the fight and dying for it, and someone (i forget who) pulled off a stellar revive, but Bane still, um, won. I think we had the flag greyed as time ran out, but that might be wishful thinking... Nice win for the other guys.

Regardless, it was a great time, and a great squad, and I think we played well. And I remembered some names this time, and actually gave some description of the way things unfolded, and now I'm out of beer, so goodnight.
