AAR/Qwai River/7 June 07
Well let me say this RIGHT now, this was probably the best game I have ever played...hands down. Great map, great team, and best of all...GREAT SQUAD.
Let me set the mood...
It was a clear, crisp morning on the River Qwai. My Squad and I thought this would be a ordinary "search and destroy" type mission. Little did we know we were about to have an epic battle on our hands. A type of battle that would make Battle of the Bulge look like a snowball fight.
We headed down for the Government right away like, and quickly capped it. But then I noticed something odd...The PLA had already capped fishing and were steadily moving into the east side of the river making a FAST advancement on Government. I decided to head northbound to make a speedy entrance to the north bridge to attack fishing village, by the time I rounded the corner, I had a tank right in front of me. Within seconds my squad was toast. I never set the rally due to our extremely fast pace. I ordered my Squad to spawn Pig Farm.
After spawing, we all gathered up and headed out again. And again we were met by that damn tank...once again...I never set me rally.
"Spawn Pig Farm" I said...
After all this, PLA have taken both Government and Fishing. I knew our only chance to get a flag was to cut straight through Government Office and swim to Fishing. It was a tactic that is never utilzed and rarely even thought of. Call it "silly" or "suicide" but it worked. After a small battle at Fishing village we were victorious and nuetralized the flag.
Then I noticed something...something that I didnt expect at all. They capped Processing...My squad asked me...
"we had 2 freaking squads there...what happened!?"
I didnt know what to say... I was speechless. But what done was done. We needed to move and FAST.
At this time, I had one of my Squadmates spawn Pigfarm and grab a littlebird. He picked us up and we moved as fast as we could.
We arrived in a shower of bullets, I ordered my chopper pilot to land us on the roof. After doing so we eliminated the immediate threat on the ground and moved in on the Flag. I looked around and noticed almost every single squad was near me and my squad. After we capped, we defended while 2 other squads moved in onto fishing and government.
Then it happened again...those little buggers snuck past us and got Pigfarm neutral.
"I had enough of this...I am pissed now" I said in a fit of rage."chopper...get over here. Squad on me!!"
We boarded and assaulted Pigfarm...high on adreniline. While we were going in, I had the song from "Apocalypse Now" in my head. It was a picture perfect Air Assault. We stormed in and quickly got rid of the enemy. After this we had capped and Government and Fishing was neutral.
"I need a pick up" I shouted as I threw my green smoke. "Squad, ON ME, we are moving to Estate!"
Momentum was on our side. We had to take advantage. Once again...a PERFECT roof insertion on Estate. I set my rally north of the Flag and waited for Fishing to get capped...waiting...waiting...NOTHING.
"We must take Fishing!" My teammates shouted...I agreed and once again shouted for my little bird.
We moved to Fishing and capped and moved out to estate AGAIN. Once we get there they take Government...this was a revolving endless circle. Finally with both Fishing and Government capped, we got Estate nuetral. But those pesky, persistant PLA got Fishing nuetral at the same time. But it was already over...with 5 min to go we had this round.
After it was all said and done, the USMC pravailed. With a close win and sweat dripping from my armpits I was damn proud of my Squad and my team.
Well done...
My squad: MacMurchu, |TG-4th|Ednos, |TG|Rhaebuster,[SEAL]Landorph, and |TG|child_of_babylon.

Re: AAR/Qwai River/7 June 07
I got in around 10PM EST for the whole round of Sunset and Road to K'waiiiwhatever.
Sunset I was with Dirtboy until his untimely leaving. We got the construction site and temple early, but just be our luck that some sniper started pinning us down. As soon as we won over Construction, we headed to Lower City. We get down the stairs, over the city wall and hit one hell of alot of guys. Dirtboy came aroudn the corner and in the most custer form "Go get em." We all threw out our smokes and started moving accross the open field from gas station to the Lower City. Dirtboy then went pee. Dirtboy then left. Ednos left, so we had to form a new squad since our origional squad was TG 4th. I hooked up with a new squad, I dont remember the name unfortunatly. w.Warehouse was running the chopper, expertly I might add. At this point, the team is RP hunting up to the riverbank. He dropped me off in the river, I swam up and got a rally after my teamate died. I was a medic, and didnt have much ammo, but placed my shots well and got 6 enemies from thier rear flank. w.Warehouse then came in guns blazing and strafed 2 squads to oblivion. After I died, and he was shot down by a tank, he was nice enough to give me a ride to go blow the bridge with C4. Mmmm it was bad ass, they never repaired it either. Thank you w.Warehouse for your pilot skills.
China won, 166-0
btw, Leg!t Rampage 2005 was a really good sniper. GG man.
Next up was road to kwaiiiwhatever. 14 v 14, so it was small. Waht Purrr or Waapurr was in charge. We spawned at outpost, jumped in a humvee and set course for the rally point at Estate. First encounter wasnt until we were 50 m out, a sniper cracked, I went down. Came back, only to go down again
However, luckily we cleared it long enough to get full force in, and myself and 2 teamates blew the rally, buying us at least 10 mins. We swept down to the bridge, and helped turn it. after my suggestion, the SL decided that we should run back up to estate after the flag was 50% done. We split up, 2 go left, and 2 went right side of the hill. The SL and myself were left side. An enemy was spraying a support gun down from the gazeebo, but only got one of us
. SL and I got up to the wall, and found no one. Everyone entered the little house, and all of the sudden you hear "shiiiitttt they're out back just sitting there, prone, with a turret. I crawled along the left wall, and popped up to get 3, the right fire team got nades in, I believe. It was over in a heartbeat. GG us, we capped the flag, everything was quiet. Meanwhile all other squads were attacking and winning over the PLA hq. So we were alone. Everything was quiet, until one stray bullet slammed a squadmate. Ugh, they were in the hills behind Estate. 2 RP's, I think. Once I died, the SL was moving up to scout out the RP's. I came back with a marksmen (just to have some fun
), only to find 3 chinese sitting on estate again. got 3, but then the 4th got me. Luckily a squaddie came and finished them off. Anyway, by this time the team capped the HQ, and are turning back, very slowly (as to find some RP's along thier way), towards estate. We destroyed the rest of the enemy, but soon the SL said "heh, only 2 guys left"
TG 1st decided to fall back as far as possible and play hide and go seek with a 100+ ticket countdown. Very slow for some reason. The team found one, but only one remained. E-male. He challenged us to find him. I went N from estate with a Support kit, and just fired randomly to try and find him. Turns out I did
E-male, good job, but unfortunatly I got you within the last 20 tickets. you were about 20 seconds from freedom, but somehow I found you. Some random guy running around birch trees, and for some reason you didnt see me. That amazed me too. I unloaded. T-bagged. (only for the lulz).
GG, I really enjoyed the teamwork tonight, and even though the first game stuck around 50 players, and the latter 28, I really enjoyed them. Keep the PW nights alive guys, invite a buddy!

Re: AAR/Qwai River/7 June 07
Glad someone created an AAR for this, i really enjoyed this round, hell, i got number one on my team, and thats rare, so i def enjoyed it!

Had a great squad around me, and i was Alpha 1, with Bravo under EMale. We had some very intense battles around fishing village, with Alpha hitting flag and Bravo trying to clear that damned enemy rally north of fishing! And all this before we were leaping all over the map in a Helo to cap and hold flags, including that time you near lost pigfarm with 450 tickets left.....if only our team could have held processing for another 30 secs or so....Oh well, probably for the best as it created a great long lasting round that only felt like it lasted 10 minutes!
Can someone explain to me why they have put a timer on maps? I think it takes the enjoyment out of it, that map would have been brill to have seen out to the end, same as Ghost Train in the Scrim! When there is only a small amount of time left i think it also encourages less realistic / tactical gameplay, as all that goes out the window in an attempt to cap a flag / kill a RP etc.
Just my 2p!
Also Warehouse, i see you in that helo again mate, your mine!

Re: AAR/Qwai River/7 June 07
That was a great round...lots of diversity. We ended fighting on almost every flag on the map.
That's a very good question Jeepo...in a poll of 284 PR players on the PR forums, a large plurality (~45%) like rounds to last 45-60 minutes. It does seem artificial in many respects but I imagine that is the limit for a lot of people's attention span for a single map.|TG| LoyalGuard

I have to say, child_of_babylon did an AMAZING job dropping us off and picking us up several, several times on the roof of Estate. For those of you who don't know, it's a construction site, so he was dodging in between all these arbitrary pillars and wires and whatnot sticking up... not to mention that he had to hover there while we found our way to the top; that place is a maze.

Yes, a great round. My squad was on their toes all the way through. Jeepo, Snoogums and EZ were my Alpha fireteam, with Loyal and Grunt in Bravo. See the link

for a brief sequence of us trying to eliminate a rally point North of Government Office.
We suffered three Helo disasters. I made my share of command errors, but Jeepo and Grunt provided excellent advice along the way. We fought at Pig farm, Government Office and Village.
