0.6 Teaser: Kashan AAR 16th of June

    Location: Kashan Desert
    Date 16th June
    Squad: "Co-assist"
    -Theskuddestroyer
    -Kill4alivin
    -Betterdeadthenred1
    -Pvt Carrol
    -Duel 137

We started out waiting a long time for people to join (me, Betterdead, an d Killforaliving. Then we switched to Kashan with about ten players in total. Since we got a co I started a "co-assist" squad. After some encouragement, the commander started spawning his stuff, and our squad started wrenching and shovelling like madmen. Often we were under fire while doing this, but we managed to build two bunkers (=spawn + place to request kits) at the two centre flags, which are mainly infantry flags.

Here we are on our way to the two centre flags which are very hard for vehicles to enter.

Here we are clearing one of the large bunkers in that area, as we came under attack while building co stuff.

After this was done, our team had capped one of the next two flags and we proceeded to the other flag with the CO in his big supply truck. We set up a firebase under the bridge near the flag, and then proceeded to attack the flag with the co and our squad. No enemy present so we took it, and again established a new bunker.

At that time, I congratulated the squad. We must have built ten bunkers in the whole round. If I checked the spawnscreen, we had created 4 spawns (3 bunkers=on flag, 1 firebase=off the flag). At that time I realized we had a really good game, and the server had gone all full. No-one in the squad had noticed, since we were so busy all the time.

It was a good round, but the best was yet to come. For the first time I loaded the (by now eager) squad into 2 hummers and we charged that last flag. This attack was just insane. Our whole team pounced on them from all sides. Tanks and snipers in the hills, planes strafing, the ever impressive A10 doing it's unholy work... breathtaking. I'm telling you guys now, this map, on a good game, is going to be THE feature of 0.6.

Look at the mini-maps in these screens, they show how many friendly forces were converging.

After we took the last flag the had the previous grey, we recapped it, using our firebase as spawn. there was an enemy squad in this base 30 seconds before this screen unfortunately I was TK-ed while taking that particular shot.

    Re-establishing a bunker there.

Leaving for the final attack with the co's truck.

The enemy airfield again, with noisy battlefield, really the sound was awe-inspiring.

At twelve o'clock you see village that is the actual flag.

At this time their 800 +tickets had run out. The whole game lasted about 2 maybe 3 hours. I cannot congratulate our whole team on the victory though. It is clear the game was largely influenced by our jets and possibly some ground-forces base-raping them.

I suggest a new rule for the runways on Kashan: the runways may be bombed, but no vehicles on it.

PS: I tested xfire's screenshot feature here, the resolution is disappointing though, the advertising is irritating.

You forgot to mention when the A10 LANDED ON THIER RUNWAY and just fired everything..

Baseraping..yeah. But there was nothing else to do...sadly.

we had a squad just camping the South Village flag most of the round, one tank and a LB they managed to hold off untill some more friendly armor came and the tanks then started camping them as they tried to cap.

Here is the only screenshot I took last night:

I am going to start taking more pics of some action in 0.6

I cant wait untill this becomes official, TG will make this map amazing. Helo extractions, air support, convoys, etc.

Woohoo! That was an awesome game. I was the desginated sniper to help keep the hills clear while the were building stuff and enjoyed camping the last flag from far away in the hills.

What an excellent game that was.
