Bf2 Memory Error
Just early today i just installed my computer (vista) and installed fh2. Ive encountered some tech problems including the famous icon error. but the errors i had after it was heartbreaking, whenever i join a fh2 server i end up crashing to my desktop and seeing a bf2 memory error ( memory.dll: all alloc attempts failed for size 4114554 ). this happens about 95% of the time i join a fh2. Please help me in anyway possible because ive waited for this **** for 2 years!. No spamming posting on how vista sucks or the flaws, i just wanna know how to fix my problem. Thank you

Re: Bf2 Memory Error
1.Take your Vista installation CD
2. Set that bitch on fire!
3. Install windows XP SP2
4. Enjoy having no more problems
PS. Sorry i cant help you liquid but i just dont think Vista is ready for games. I'll ask some of my friends today at college, maybe they can help.

Re: Bf2 Memory Error
I had the same problem but finally overcame it with the FH2 Beta testers help. Aside from the standard run in XP Compatibility mode and Run as Administrator settings you should use when launching the game the game needs to be set to mostly Medium graphical settings. This resolved the problem for me instantaneously.
Apparently FH2 is much more taxing on Vista then Vanilla BF2 and alot of BF2 mods and cripples the memory management.

Re: Bf2 Memory Error
It did for me, I can't guarantee it will work for you but your problem sounds very similar to mine and selecting the medium graphics preset fixed it for me. It doesn't look as good as it could but it works and thats the important thing.

Re: Bf2 Memory Error
hi, to fix this your gonna need a program called explore suite, it crashes because of a 2gb memory address, i use this and it fixed my problems with bf2 and bf2142. Google it bf2 memory error fix, explorer suite
download program run it, what your doing is actually altering the bf2 exe. some punkbusted servers you might get kicked bcoz md5 mismatch tool so if you do you know why . i use vista 64 for the past 6 months and it works great with all settings high+run the program as administrator and back up your bf2 exe, hope this helps sorry could not post links without posting at least 15 times. This will fix it!!!!!!!!!see u in the field

when doing it you need to run explorer suite as administrator, right click on explore suite exe and run as administrator.google this word [nv news bf2 memory error explorer suite] on that site it explains every thing + a picture to show you how to do it.

Re: Bf2 Memory Error
when you open explore suite are you running it as administrator , if you dont you wont be able to overwrite and save the altered bf2 exe. you must of done some thing wrong you have to find the exe where u installed it mines C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 not on your desktop

Re: Bf2 Memory Error
I did everything correctly i think, first i ran the program as adminstrator, than i clicked on the open folder. i went to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 ( opened the bf2 icon that said application 7,397kb. ) and than clicked "file header". After that i clicked where it said click here in pink all the way to the right. I checked off the "app can handle > 2 gb adressest" and pressed OK. Once i did that, i click file and overwrited it. Is there anything im missing?. i hope this error doesnt affect mods like PR or else ill have a mental break down. I think i also tried right clicking the bf2 desktop icon and disabled the desktop composition. I really dont know what else i can do, Its only to be a sad holiday for me
