Re: It's here!
Yea I need to give it some more time, maybe a couple weeks from now the more seasoned players will be on and a decent game will be more easily avaliable.
The last few times I played, it was reeaaallly bad, probalby just bad luck. I didnt post about it cause it was that bad, I dont want to cause negative publicity to a mod team that has obviously put alot of effort into their mod and I think it deserves a fair chance. |

Re: It's here!
I like this mod, but there are some things that I don't agree with.
For instance, on one particular map there are 3 hurricanes pitted against 2 stuka's and 1 me109. Afaik, there are no maps with more than 1 german fighter. Imo the stuka's rear gunner isn't effective enough when compared with the fighter's offensive armament, and the stuka already has a speed and maneuverability disadvantage that makes it difficult to avoid well placed gunfire. 2 or even 3 hurricanes can keep the 109 neutralized and keep the stuka's pretty much on the ground. I'm all for realism and I understand they were going for historic scenarios, but it's almost like they forget that sometimes people want to have fun when they play. Imo build a map, give both sides comparative gear, and let the battle unfold. On another map, the english have no aircraft. The germans have 2 ju52's, 2 stuka's, and a 109. What's the use of having a 109 when there is no fighter to oppose it, thereby relegating it to ground attack duties? Isn't that why you have the 2 stukas? |

Re: It's here!
Nothing that I'm aware of. The server I believe is empty most of the time.
I joined the WAW tournament for FH2 and its been great so far! Tournament play for this mod rocks. Bernout |

Re: It's here!
I believe we are going to declare FH as dead here and concentrate our efforts on a ranked BF2 server.

Re: It's here!
Alright, that would make sense...
So far FH2 has messed up for me three times in the last day that i've had it.. Once killing all my controls that I did (enter server, doesnt let you move mouse or keyboard, googled it and had to set controls to default) Once just wouldn't let me exit the server, then when I did the computer crashed before I even got to desktop Once I completely exited out of FH2, the music was still playing for 4 minutes after so I tried ctrl alt del on the thing and comp froze up, |

Re: It's here!
After reading some threads, all these negative gameplay reviews and especially the ones that say it messes with controls and the computer, has made me not download it. A pity as I would have liked to enjoy a bit of Stuka/MP40 action.
I take it that is as it stands, unless you are a 1942 devotee, which I am not. Again, a pity as I was hoping for a class WWII Mod that honours, as the FH2 developers jest with Heroes (Heroes is an insult, in my opinion). I think they do this, as it is aparent in the effort they put into the description of the time, but Fuzzhead and others have said: why it simply is not 'playable', in game especially and more to it, to the point of worrying about the computer or other settings. This is a yet, I hope. |

My recommendation would be to go ahead and try it. It's easily as stable on my system as any other BF2 mod I've tried. And as far as pubbing goes, I don't think it's that much different than PR. If you don't have a server where teamwork is emphasized then you are rolling the dice as to the quality of play. As I stated previously, I'm playing in the WAW tournament and it is a TON of fun. Fun enough that I am sacrificing a good chunk out of my Saturdays for the battle days. Sigh. ![]() Bernout |
