Trying to find a weapon
Sometimes when you get revived in BF2 you end up with a different weapon than what you started with.
A couple times on Karkland after I was revived I had a weapon with red dot scope. The sight window was not round, the sides sloped. I did pretty decent with this rifle so I was curious whether this was an unlock. I believe this is a Special Forces gun. I looked at all the rifles that have a scope in my BF2 original game and Special Forces game. Any ideas of what weapon I was using? |

Re: Trying to find a weapon
Only weaps with red dot scope are M4 which is deafult US spec ops, the AK74u which is default MEC spec ops, the SCAR-L which is the Special Forces spec ops gun that you can use in vanilla and the P90 which is a 50 round SMG for the Anti Tank class.
You need SF expansion to be able to pick the SCAR-L and the P90 as unlocks for use in vanilla BF2. The reason you sometimes get revived with a different kit is after 5 seconds of being critically wounded your kit bag appears next to you and becomes separated from your player character. On Karkand where lots of dying is going on in a confined area (Hotel) you often get revived with someone else's kit because upon revive the engine finds the closest kit bag and assigns it to you.

Re: Trying to find a weapon
Drunken Pirate,
Thanks for your listing of red dot sighted weapons. I spent a lot of time looking at each possibility. Strange as it might seem to me, it could be the P90 that I had for a short term. I looked at a video of the P90 and it fits the general visual profile that I remembered. From what I hear this really isn't a great weapon to have however as it supposedly is more inaccurate than the stock anti tank weapons. The only other weapon from what I understand that somewhat fits the description would be the AK74. Perhaps I'll accidentally pick up the weapon again so I can make a better visual match. |

Re: Trying to find a weapon
The P90 is pretty good if used properly, it has a large capacity magazine (50 rounds) but only 2 extra mags. I find it good for maps like Wake or other open maps where the DAO-12 is less effective.

Here's what I have so far 1) G36C 2) G36E 3) PKM 4) DAO-12 5) L85 (What I use most as a medic) 6) Jackhammer 7) M95 8) G3 9) FN2000 With 10 as a question mark. From my understanding the P90 default weapon in the Euro Force expansion pack. That might be a decent reason for checking it out. |
