AIX Mod
Just as an FYI, Global Conflict is just starting an AIX tournament. They just finished the draft but it is still possible to join a team if anyone wants to give it a try. Of all the mods that we tried on those Wednesday sessions this was one of my favorites so I figure it's worth a go.

Re: AIX Mod
Nope, this mod is worse than vanilla. Way too many jets and armor. This mod is not for me

Re: AIX Mod
The AIX mod is alot of fun if you wanna just run and gun. Love the inf. mimi gun as well as all the weapons. As for tactics....gameplay to me is way to crazy for tactical situations "IMO". Its great for a change of pace. The "redux" Karkand map is very nice....like the atmospherics they did. Lots of fun....

Re: AIX Mod
There's a reason all of the online AIX servers are 7 people vs 32 computers, it's so overpowered that a little skill beats out anything, I can't see it being fun for competitive play.
I myself enjoy beating on the bots to work out frustration, the Notar Littlebird is just insanely deadly.

Re: AIX Mod
...not to mention the insanely over-powerful A-10.
This mod looked neat, but has way too many balance issues.

Re: AIX Mod
Well, I've gone through a couple of battle days. So far the air hasn't been so bad...perhaps it is just the maps we are playing. The thing that bothers me the most is TG's fault since I've long since gotten used to our play style. Having to deal with bunny hopping and being able to fire while doing so, throwing grenades and C4 while jumping, and all the other gamey vanilla BF2 stuff sucks. Quite frankly it just makes me appreciate POE2 all the more. Smoke rules! lol It also gets quite old getting mortared and grenaded all the time. With each kit having good offensive capability it makes for a wild ride.
And last but not least is GC doesn't have the numbers it used to and all the AIX 16 player maps seem to have 5+ flags on them. You can imagine what kind of game play that results in. GC is also seriously lacking on North America players which can cause language barrier issues for squads. And they have some very competitive European clan members playing who all excel in the game play I whined about above. ![]() All in all I'd love to play AIX with TG but I don't know how much more I'll end up doing it with GC. Perhaps if some of you guys joined up and we got a solid TG squad going it might make it more fun. If you make it over there join the 11th Marines and Battle squad but don't take too long! Not sure how much longer I'm going to last.Bernout |

Re: AIX Mod
I personally like AIX, even if the game play can be unbalanced. Bernout, I'm in Alpha and plan on playing this Saturday to own some SCUM.
(For any TGer not in GC, SCUM is the other team this campaign.)

Re: AIX Mod
Me and one of your irregs (Cylon if memory serves right) got a two man squad going and ended up bending the other team over a table with just tanks. Teamwark ftw.

I thought it was funny that GC has a SCUM (Simian Crusader Uber Mercenaries) team going vs US Marines again. Campaign 3 was my first full length campaign with GC and I'm sure still is considered one of the best...ever. I especially liked the Crapflingers squad I led where we had a solid German squad and English squad going on most battles. Good stuff.Bernout |

Re: AIX Mod
I am kinda' surprised by the comments, I really liked the mod, especially because it makes large scale battles possible, and the spinning of the blackhawk when it gets shot is a nice touch too! There are many good things, like the mortar which some kits can deploy and when coordinated with teammates is absolutely deadly. I like what they did with tanks - the display and stuff. The ONLY thing I don't like is the decreased accuracy of weapons, but now that I think of it, it is good because it stops ppl who go alone around and "pwn" and it makes you go tactical, and move as a squad and provide covering fire and because it is so inaccurate it is more like a fear factor to keep the enemies heads down. My 2 cents.
