I mean you can't wrong if you buy BF2. What is it like $10 now? I'm sure there are tons of people still playing vanilla BF2. However here at TG we run 2 different mods of the game. One being Project Reality and the other being Point of Existence 2. Those are both excellent mods which some may say are better than the original game.
It wouldn't be fair for me to compare BF2 to 2142 since I've only played the latter a short while when it first came out. Check out the 2142 forums to get a better feel for that game. It still does have a strong TG following. Why not buy both? I'm sure they're really cheap by now.
