I have a Radeon 9200 with 128 mb RAM. Every time I start BF2, it will go through the opening credits and then just show the mouse with a dark screen behind it. The first time, my computer shut down the game and told me the graphics card shut down, so I had to restart the computer. I then got the newest driver and installed it, but it showed the same black screen. It didn't shut down the game this time, though. Any ideas on how to get this to work would be great. Also, if I have to buy a graphics card, what would you recommend for about $150?

If the fix doesn't work for you and you need a new card... check out the nVidia 6600GTs. They are the consumer model under $200.

i got one from nividia and it works fine. i dont know the model but anything from nivida would work. look at the system requirments for bf2 demo. i did get a weird steam graphics driver update that i cant figure out. it says my drivers are out of date but i cant find the correct driver. w/e it works fine without the driver.

I got my 6600gt AGP retail for $160. Just watch the specials likes bensbargains.com or pricewatch.com (if you're brave e-bay). I just checked pricewatch for the PCI-E versions and they have one for $165.
