Last night Tarpan LED our squad with unbelievable courage and awe inspiring leadership. THIS IS WHAT TG IS ALL ABOUT! I have not had that much fun since I don't know when. AMAZING! This guy takes orders from the commander but if the commander is too busy with other things he can also improvise. He had us setting up ambushes, assaulting, etc, etc. Again, just letting everyone know, if they ever get the chance to be on this guy's squad.....DO IT! You will have a great time. Thanks again Tarpan.

Re: Thank you SmokingTarpan....
I actually had 2 squad's communicating last night, which is a first. They were also the only 2 following orders and were the success of the team. Tarpan was the one squad leader and another i'm not sure. But we did well and held off the MEC pretty well. We actually won with only 2 spawn points and the 1 being the construction site, which tarpan held quite well.

ST is truly a fine leader. Lead the USMC to victory after victory against us last night.
Plus, the bastid killed me like a bazillion times. I call JIHAD against the Smoking Tarpan! Bonus round: Good lord, how many Jihads is that? |

MEC had a new commander last night. REALEST was trying his best, but his novice was reflected in his team's defeat.

Re: Thank you SmokingTarpan....
Well, the plan was to play grunt until I knew the ins and outs of gameplay on the ground -- and only then assume the commander role.
Then I found squad leadership, and that's working remarkably well. Last night, our entire team suffered because we didn't have a top-notch commander. So, I decided, this server is already suffering because there aren't enough commanders. I can, then, begin learning the commander interface. I look forward to Apophis' tutorial, and I've installed BF2 server on my personal server so that I may practice and learn without 63 other people involved.

Re: Thank you SmokingTarpan....
Thanks for all the compliments guys, but I couldn't have been as effective without good squad members. Everyone who was in my squad listened, communicated and did as necessary; awesome job.
Don't talk me up too much though, I still blunder just as much as the next guy . I remember a few ambushes that I ran us into, the most memorable that helicopter on the ground. I was about 2sec too late in realizing what was going on. I was also way too slow in realizing our squad couldn't take the construction site on our own one time, so all we ended up doing was keeping them penned in for a 7-8min firefight. And yea Mateo, I kept running into you wherever I went. Every time I saw you in front of me I groaned because it ended up turning into a bloody fight. |
