The success of Battlefield 2
Battlefield 2 Retail has only been here at Tactical Gamer for two days. The Battlefield 2 demo has only been with us for a week and a half. That's not a lot of time to understand the ins and outs of a game or to get a community prepared to support such a MASSIVE growth spurt.
While you play on the Tactical Gamer servers and participate in our forums, keep in mind that the success we have seen in this game is due to the hard work of a number of people. I would like to publically thank those that have really pulled together to make this one of the best game launches we have seen in Tactical Gamer's 9 year history. Tempus has excelled as a game officer and has been there to help new players and admins alike. He has been with TG for quite some time, but this is his first experience here at being the head honcho for one of our games. Battlefield 2 was no small undertaking either, it has great importance to our community and really needed to do well. When you see the admin teams functioning and the gameplay moving, be sure to thank him for his efforts. The admin team; CingularDuality, Killer McDermott, Twisted Firestarter, Wyzcrak, JohnGalt, Asch and Pokerface. These are the guys that are dedicating their time and in many cases giving up part of their own personal playtime to make sure that the server is everything that it promises to be. They keep the teamkillers in check, and make sure that the troublemakers get the boot. When you are able to work with your team and know that the other players you are interacting with are reliable and just as focused on the team goals as yourself, thank these guys for everything they do. Pokerface and Wyzcrak; These two guys do more work than you can imagine behind the scenes. As you all know, the auto-balance that was delivered with the game had some very critical flaws. Squad leaders and team commanders would get swapped over to the other team mid-game if the right conditions existed. This would cause all sorts of headaches in terms of the cohesiveness of the teams and caused distress due to your sudden lack of a commander or squad leader. Pokerface has spent time developing a new auto-balance system that balances players in a more sane fashion, moving those not assigned to squads and squad-members, rather than squad leaders and commanders. There are numerous other modifications in the works that will enhance our play due to the efforts of Poker and Wyz. As you become aware of the new functionality our server is offering, buy a beer for these two. They've earned it. The gamers; Everyone that has come to Tactical Gamer in search of a more team oriented environment has an enormous role in making us what we are today. We could have the best philosophy in the world, but if we lacked the players to execute our ideas, we would be an empty community with nothing more than empty servers and an unapplied concept. As each of you learn what we're about and get involved in our style of play, you contribute to the growth of our community. You help set an example for other new players joining the servers and act as a beacon of maturity and teamwork amongst the masses of public servers out there for them to choose from. Thank you for sticking around and helping make us what we are today. For those of you who have chosen to become supporting members, we appreciate the support more than you can imagine. None of the servers that make up our community come cheap. We don't rent game servers from third parties and shop for the cheapest possible, we utilize high end dedicated servers at a first tier datacenter. This allows us the flexibility we need adapt rapidly to the needs of the community and to support the newest games as they are released. Thank you for that support.

Re: The success of Battlefield 2
I remember the days of XLII and Day Of Defeat...I even recognize some of the names (CingularDuality, Apophis)...those were good times for me...and I'm glad to be back and to see that you're still here, still bringin' it. It's good to be back. Thanks for all you do.
