Talking Broken Arrow!

One thing I've learned that we need in Battlefield 2... is a squad leader "Broken Arrow" command... because after playing squad leader and getting our buttock handed to us over and over... I've realized the only tactical solution in the chaos of war is a big buttock nuke dropped right on our heads! lol

Great game... but that Commander and Squad Leader position is hard... I've lost my voice yelling out orders to my squad over the sounds of headphones battles all day.

Re: Broken Arrow!

Today when playing I noticed a big problem of SL'ers going AFK or something and just sitting there dead, not leading or anything. Must suck for the commander when he issues an order and the squad leader isn't there to accept it and tell his squad.

Re: Broken Arrow!

Haha.. I love to do that when one of my poor squads gets overrun at a flag. I look down, zoom in and see 10-15 little soldiers lying down near the flag in an attempt to collect the points for turning it, and I drop the artillery!

Many times during the initial map load a squad leader may still be loading / validating. However, beyond this, please contact an admin via teamspeak.

Re: Broken Arrow!

I was on your server for 3 hours... and I was amazed at the team work and coordination between commander, squads, and the men... was very impressed.

It is easy to command with a game of say 16 vs 16... but when you do 32 or 64, it can get very hectic and busy... we can be too quick to boot commanders or squad leaders... if there doing nothing at all then a good boot is fine, but if your not getting enough orders from your commander as a squad leader.. then you should take charge of your own squad, accomplish a mission, and ask for support (supplies, artillery) as needed. The commander can get easily overwhelmed... takes a good player, and a level head player to take charge... it's a "learning period" I believe.

I understand that. But in this instance, two squad leaders were dead from the beginning of load time at least 15 minutes into the game. I didn't continue to check after that as I finally found a SL that was present and we were getting into some action. At this point in time I don't think any admin was on TS to do anythign about it. I always log on TS before loading BF2 in case I need to get in touch with one.

I see this often. As an admin, I can kick the SL, but other players don't have that option.

A suggestion: if you're in a squad, and your SL is AFK, start (or join) another squad. Being in a squad with an AFK squadleader is almost the same as not being in a squad. The Commander can't issue orders or talk to you.

Re: Broken Arrow!

well Broken Arrow means either a lost nuke or 'position overrun requesting all available aircraft to this position and bomb it' not really nuke.
