Great Server

Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I've been playing the majority of BF2 on your public server and it's always a great time. Is there a config that forces each side into squads out there?

Re: Great Server

Welcome to the forums Faultline.

We do not have a mechanism to force players onto squads. When you join the server and see everyone on a squad, it is because you are on a server full of people who like playing with teamwork. If you are a player like that, then you have found a home.

We will, however, kick players who do not join squads and participate with teamwork on the server. We only want one type of player on our server.. A teamwork oriented one.

Thumbs up Re: Great Server

I just wanted to add that I am glad I found this site and your server. Having everyone in sqauds completely changes the game. Thanks for putting up a server with a great teamplay environment.

Re: Great Server

I played last night on your server and I have to say, it was the most fun I'd had playing BF2. Probably more than any multiplayer game in general.

Too bad I couldn't get my mic working.

Re: Great Server

Tempus, are the forthcoming admin tools going to be able to handle auto-kicking unassigned players?

Re: Great Server

I just hope they give some time before kicking. Because sometimes I forget to join a squad and have gotten kicked once for it.

Re: Great Server

Spent a few hours on the TG server today - impressive as usual. Was in 2 different squads and we worked well together, excellent team play.

Yes. The dream is to have this on the server for tomorrow night's games.

If you spawn and you're squadless, a teamsay will let your team know that they've got a forgetful rogue. If you die and you're squadless, an allsay will let everyone know you're being kicked for not being on a squad... and then you'll be kicked. However, the kick screen will ALWAYS say that you got kicked by and admin, teamkills, or by vote. The kick screen is dumb like that. :-/

World of Warcraft owned my soul since November, but with the utter lack of content for a level 60 (except grinding the same boring stuff over and over) I found myself playing exclusively in its Battlegrounds - which was not nearly as satisfying as a real squad based FPS. Thankfully, BF2 had the good timing to come out right as my WoW account was up for renewal. Simple choice.
