Kudos to TG

After seeing Wyz's mention in the "Married Gamers" thread that he promoted TG on the Planet Battlefield forums, I decided it would be fun to find out how many other times TG was mentioned, and I found some really good entries, thought I would share them with you!

There is a problem with people crashing into your vehicle and making you responsible for the TK. If this was smoothed out or given more intelligence then I think it would help the system greatly. Really right now the solution is to find a well administrated server. *tactical gamer* cough cough.

<snip>

Find some communities that you can play in and have fun. Tactical gamer www.tacticalgamer.com runs a server and they have a community that does not require Clan type commitment. They offer an atmosphere for fun team based play. The admins are fantastic and do not hesitate to remove the idiots. They also run forums where if you do get banned and you feel its not your fault they are happy to hear you out and re-instate you. I think you are going to find that the game community is going to slowly move toward this type of model. I think it's an awesome idea and playing on TG's servers I had the best gaming experience ever with all the teamwork and great admin work ..and it was just a demo.

I second that post. Tactical gamer is the only server I will play on now. Every game I have ever played on their servers have been great. Awsome team play, no people running around doing nothing.

www.tacticalgamer.com

Best servers ever PERIOD.

Recently, while looking for a mature server to play BF2, I chanced upon this thread and heard about tacticalgamer.com. What followed has been one of my most positive online experiences ever.

Tactical Gamer is a team oriented, multi-game website that stresses, nay enforces, team play. The teamwork on the servers they run is incredible. During the early days of the demo, I played on some other servers, and the griefers and Rambos drove me nuts. It's just amazing what a well run squad can accomplish.

I can't stress enough what an excellent community this is. I know I need look no further for my new online home. If you are looking for a mature, experienced team with which to play BF2, then I hope you will stop by or drop in on us online. I know you will be pleased.

If you are annoyed by this poster, and find the reality of what what he says being true on many servers, then come on over to Tactical Gamer.

I was never able to find a good server, let alone a good squad. Just always servers with a bunch of lone wolfers doing whatever and no organization. This isn't fun to me. I want to be in a squad, to have objectives, to roll with the team. That's what makes the game fun for me - not always being at the top of the score board.

If you prefer team-oriented battles, then I encourage you to visit the TacticalGamer servers. You won't regret it. I didn't.
Quote:
The guidelines are easy... participate and work with your squad... and the squad leaders should be leading, following the objectives set by the commander.

Tacticalgamer.com has two public servers and a private server available for it's community. They have also incorporated several server-side mods. These include...

1) Squad leaders and commanders do not get auto-balanced.
2) Auto-balance will allow up to a 3 player difference so that auto-balance is not kicking in too frequently.
3) Auto-kick the individuals who refuse to participate in the squad based play.

There is an active admin presence to help ensure that the play is mature and enjoyable.

This isn't a knock on the RAMBO style players. They are playing the game the way they like to play it and there is nothing wrong with that, however that is not for everyone. So if you are looking for the teamwork, communication, coordination, mature play, etc., check out the guys over at www.tacticalgamer.com.

Similarly, for those who play other games (i.e. Ghost Recon, Natural Selection, Counter-Strike Source, and many more), Tactical Gamer hosts many other games.

Keep up the good work TG!!!

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Root: Welcome to TG. Feel free to punctuate your sentences correctly. Monkerz: Its gonna take all my skills to beat those boys off in the future.

Re: Kudos to TG

Actually, none of those are by me. But whoever it was, they did a good job.

Re: Kudos to TG

Yeah, when going through the posts, I made a point NOT to include any posts that were blatant "Come to our server, it's great" blah blah blah posts. Not because recruiting is bad, or that they weren't true, etc. It's just that I wanted posts from people that could be considered a "success story" (for lack of a better phrase) for TG.

There were however many more posts that I did not include that I saw as just advertisements or recruitments.

I will also point out, that in my search, not once did I find a post that was against TG... ALL posts I saw were positive!
(Also note, these are all from that one set of forums, as others pointed out, we could easily include other forums as well... maybe setup a success story thread just for praises and criticisms?)

Re: Kudos to TG

Kudos for digging them up Mito. Semi-related story: I was in our server last night and was on a random squad that apparently had several guys that played on other servers together. One of them said "See, this is the server I was telling you about." His buddy replied "yeah, pretty smooth and they seem organized, wow."

Man, I love this place.
