TG's 64 public server losing its touch?

Hey guys,

Just got back - Friday 1st july; 19h pm EAST - from a 3 hours game run on the first public server (67.19.26.150) and up until the point where Nemesis and Asch (Amongts others) left, it was awesome... then, within the hour, all teamplay droped.

I tried SL and Commander, no one was following orders, squads were always scattered around the map. It was a very sad moment.

Anyone else who was playing felt that way? I felt like i was on a EA ranked server.. everyone gagging for kills and scores.

Ahhhh

Re: TG's 64 public server losing its touch?

I just played through a couple maps and quit in the middle of it all. It just sucks the fun out of it, how unbalanced the sides are. It seems that on all the maps I played the USMC had a major advantage. They had more tickets, or a UCB, or a black hawk. Then, all the good commanders seem to migrate to the "good" side, and the good SL's often follow. So you have utter chaos on the China/MEC side, with a built in disadvantage, and well oiled clockwork on the USMC side backed by a built in advantage. I felt the same way during the Oman demo.

Re: TG's 64 public server losing its touch?

I was thinking the same thing. I was on at 4:30 for 5 min and everyone was in squads but they were not together. I named my squad covert ops and told the commander I was alone and would be taking out the artillery etc. Then he told me to take a flag where their was about 15 enemies, all by myself. I questioned him because I was almost to the artillery but I guess he didnt have a mic because he didnt say anything. So I went about the orders and got slaughtered. Just one example. Then I left because it was frustrating.

Well, when you don't play at peak hours, you're gonna be on the server with different players. Plus, this is a holiday weekend, so there's probably fewer regulars around.

The balance issues, should they actually exist, will surely be addressed in future patches.

With the addition of another public server, we're going to have to educate the new mass of players on the TG style. It's going to take some work, but I believe when they figure it out, they'll blend right in.

This is something I have noticed across all TG servers I have played on. Because most of our members are adults with families and responsibilities, game play often takes a slide during off peak hours and holidays and sometimes random periods.

It happens... does it mean TG is going down hill or has lost its spark? Absolutely not. The party is just starting with BF2. Be patient and don’t always expect a perfect gaming experience, there will be times where the team play is just not clicking for the night or simply there may be a drought of regulars.

It really seems to pick up around 9:00PM Eastern. Tonight's games were pretty good on the 64 player server.

Re: TG's 64 public server losing its touch?

I definitely found that coherence and quality in the chain of command seemed to heavily decline as the night went on. I ended up with squad lead somewhere in the middle of Sharqi Penninsula. For the next few maps I tried my best to keep my squad in good order and show at least those few what we're supposed to be about. I still have allot to learn about how I should best be using my guys, but I think I'm getting better and I hope that those with me at least enjoyed themselves.

As far as balance issues, yes on some maps it gets pretty horrible. That little city one with the mosque(Dont know the name) for instance. The USMC has a Blackhawk with giant miniguns, the MEC get a tin can with some pea shooters...oh and the level has no AA. So after a bit my squad ends up heading back to our main rear base to take it back from some ebil MEC folks and once we're done we find ourselves standing around a shiny new BH. I say "Hey, wanna form ourselves into a BH squad and go wreak some havoc?" So we do, and within a few minutes we have everything pretty well worked out and its really just ridiculous how powerful that thing is. Most of my squad spent the first bit of the next map gasping their disbelief at the carnage and resultant scores of that BH trip. The really evil thing is of course that the one time we finally got shot down...15 seconds later we spawn, wait 5 more seconds, the BH spawns and away we go.
I don't think I would really mind that much if the MEC side had something even remotely similar, but their's is just pitiful. We actually had a little head to head action against the MEC helo at one point and as soon as I got my bearing on him and managed to fly up over a bit, he got torn to shreds by the miniguns; in the meantime the hits we recieved from his guns barely even gave my engineers anything to fix.

That kind of vehicle difference just isn't fair... (And remember, this opinion is from one of the guys dishing out the damage)

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Root: Welcome to TG. Feel free to punctuate your sentences correctly. Monkerz: Its gonna take all my skills to beat those boys off in the future.

Re: TG's 64 public server losing its touch?

BF2 needs a patch to do some sort of pre-match shuffle of squads from one team to the next. That way an affective squad can stay together, but not always on the same team. If BF2 does a patch similar to this, it would help team stacking A LOT.
