Guys, I wanted to share a story with you about one of maps where I was SL, Songhua Stalemate. I don't know the exact time we were on this map, my guess is somewhere around 11pm (7/1). Anyway, I had a GREAT squad working with me. Gordy, you're probably wondering why your name is in the title, huh? Well, you were our fearless CO during that map.
My squad and I spawned at a forward base and took 2 flags ahead of us. we faced minimal resistance. CO: "Squad 9, can you work back to the main base?" Me: "Copy that CO." Upon this, we finished up the enemy at the flag we were at and went to the Chinese enemy base. We approached from below the hill and we came upon the radar. Me: "Okay guys, let's take out the radar and UAV on our way to the flag." My squad performed flawlessly and we worked the flag, and made sure that we kept all equipment down. We battled back and forth with the Chinese, they were coming hard but we weren't going to let them get their equipment back online or take the flag. CO: "Squad 9, I need to you defend that point." Me: "Copy that CO." CO: "Squad 9, while you're there, can you repair radar/UAV/Artillery? Something keeps blowing it all up." Gordy77, do you see where this is going? Me: " Squad members: "Huh? Are you kidding? You can't be serious!" Me: "Guys, CO just said while we were here defending this base to repair the equipment, that something keeps blowing it up." Long silence......Squad member: "HAHAHAHAHAHA, you've got to be kidding!" Squad member: "uh, there's an American flag on the UAV trailer." Me: "oh *%@*!!! Okay guys, new plan. We have to get all this equipment back online!" So, as my guys defended the base, I ran around repairing all the equipment that I so diligently ordered destroyed. The ironic thing was on the high scores screen, I had high score for engineer. Not one I was proud to have, let me tell you. Gordy, the reason we lost that map (by like 130 tickets) was because of these actions, and for that, I am seriously sorry. We were not trying to be malicious in any way or sabotage you, it was just a serious brain fart. We didn't initially spawn at that flag, so it never dawned on me that it was ours to start, and that the chinese has taken that flag over in less than 3 minutes or so. When we were ordered to go there, the Chinese had control over it. Now, I posted this for several reasons: 1. You all seem like a great bunch of guys, and I know you'll enjoy giving me endless harrassment over this ![]() 2. When you look back on it, it's pretty darn funny (well, maybe Gordy doesn't think so )3. It *might* be able to happen to anyone....*might* 4. Before you blow up that trailer, look at the flag on it...that should tell you if you should be placing explosives on it or not. ![]() In my defense, it was only the second time I had seen that map, I'm not very familiar with who starts with what control points yet (except Gulf of Oman, of course). So, in closing, I'm asking any of you to share any stories you might have so I know I'm not the only one who has screwed the pooch like this ![]() |

Re: Shining moments as SL, Gordy77 you need to read this
ROFLMAO!!! That's great.
Site note: by capturing the enemy flag a team does not assume control over those assets.

Re: Shining moments as SL, Gordy77 you need to read this
LMAO hahahaha, thats great. Hell no im not disappointed its just another game. But I was wondering why as we had that point at times it kept getting destroyed. then near the end I had it all back. HA. That is some funny crap right there. But in all truth you guys were getting hammered big time. They did not let up on that base te whole game. I was sending 2 squads just to that one point. The whole American side did good, it was a good match.
Well JMJ im not mad or disappointed at all, im laughing about it. But I hope you learn lol. Good game hope to see you on there (I think?).

Haha, yeah I've almost done similar things before with my squads...that map is so confusing.
ME: guys we need to retake our main Squad member: which one's our main? ME: uhm...for now this one shall be it!

That's good stuff right there. I'm sure we've had our foul ups so far in this game, and it's nice too see we all laugh about them afterwards.
