Once you get used to the voices, the MEC/Chinese ones are cool for immersion. But yes... takes a while before you can associate the audio cues.

I never do learn to associate the audio cues, but there's one thing that I do like about being on the MEC or CHI forces: "GRENADE!"

Since I can luckily understand english, I know when it's time to get around a corner to avoid an incoming blast.
