It happened to every CO after that as well.

For my 2 cents, I've had a mutiny vote launched by my character, while I was just joining the server. I hadn't clicked anything yet that I know of other than the "join game" button. I thought "wierd" and went on about my business. Definately sounds like a bug to me.

Other bugs I've seen, teammates marked as red, able to spawn at flag even though it is capped as enemy, unable to spawn on commander when other squad members can.

The thing that I hate is when someone puts up a kick vote, and then a CO gives me an order shortly after. I hit Page Up to accept the order, and it ends up making me vote to kick the person first. Thankfully, I don't think anyone has been kicked due to this.
Is the TG server ranked?

Re: Stop the incessant commander votekicks

No, it's not ranked.

On the subject of the continual vote kicks to a commander, as a PUB survivor, the only reason I can see for a vote is if the commander is AFK, which seems to happen now and then, but otherwise let the CO be. Everyone deserves a chance in the hot seat, imo. Having outlasted quite a few vote kicks as a commander, what I see most often is a group of players that are of the same clan wanting a "known" entity to be the commander, and start a vote kick the second they join a server. While I can sympathize with folks wanting a buddy to be the commander, its like the "Hey, thats MY &%$#ing JET!!11" you see on the pubs...folks get really wierd when they get too attached to a role, or assumed role in the game.

If a mutiny starts on me when commanding, and its a good portion of the players, I usually ask what can improve. And if the responses are intelligent, I try to impliment them...but if its just a wash of profanity and whatnot, I have been known to drop an arty barrage on a mouthy jerk, then disconnect from the server.

My bad.

It'll be over something stupid too, like some noob requests a supply drop (because he's out ramboing or something), doesn't get it because the CO is actually doing more important things, so the vote is initiated.

I've only initiated a mutiny once, and it turned out everyone else wanted his ass out of the command chair too, hehe. He told me off before leaving. But the entire team can't be wrong

Re: Stop the incessant commander votekicks

Can we turn off the vote kick completely? I'm gathering that no one has seen one work. Sounds like the only reason we would kick a CO is if they were AFK or something else out of their control. Our admins are pretty good about correcting these situations if they are made aware.

In addition to the SL only vote script, maybe the script could kick someone that spam votes. Having SL's only vote is nice but it only takes one moron.

I accidentally voted yes once when I was trying to accept my commander's order. I sure hope EA/DICE fixes that bug.

As far as the whole voting thing goes, I've never seen it work when it should so if you guys want to turn off voting completely and leave the kicking to the admins, I'd be 100% behind that decision.

Re: Stop the incessant commander votekicks

I've had a couple of vote kicks that I supposedly initiated but haven't. Dunno if it's a bug or if I got a little too zealous clicking around on the squad page.

Re: Stop the incessant commander votekicks

There have been a LOT of bad commanders these past few days -- maybe that's why the mutinies seem more frequent?

Several guys have been playing and commanding at same time ("I dont wanna finish with a negative team score" one guy said heh.... No orders, tons of inappropriately placed/timed artillery, etc. Guys who point out every single infantry dude with the "spotted" command.

I say PW protect one of the pub servers every night!

Re: Stop the incessant commander votekicks

We get complaints about people not stepping up to the CO chair and then we get complaints about bad COs. There's going to be a painful middle ground period where folks need a chance to learn the CO chair. I'd prefer to see more people step up and receive open constructive feedback instead of mutiny votes and flames.

While it is annoying to hear "Enemy Spotted!" 10 times in 3 seconds, think of the value. Those guys stay on your local radar for a few seconds, so you get to see them if they move, what direction they're facing, etc. I'll deal with the annoying comm chatter if it gives me enemy locations.

This can be very valuable information, especially if your UAV is down or in use. It's a way for the CO to relay enemy positions.

No, don't complain about that. The CO could very easily be spending his time elsewhere, keeping his situational awareness and dropping artillery. Instead, he is zoomed all the way in to a particular situation, micro-managing it because it is high-priority.

Perhaps he is aiding a squad who might otherwise get ambushed, or helping to get an area cleared out whilst the UAV is chirping away somewhere else.

In either case, believe me, the CO is doing SOMEONE a favor, and it's worth all the spam.

Re: Stop the incessant commander votekicks

I'd rather have a bad CO rather than NO Co at all. Offer suggestions as an SL, and congratulate/thank for help given

Yeah, on occasion.... Especially if the UAV is down..... But there's a point where it's overkill. A voice note that "there are a dozen guys scattered at your point" is better than Enemy Infantry Spotted Enemy Infantry Spotted Enemy Infantry Spotted Enemy Infantry Spotted Enemy Infantry Spotted

Guess ya hadda be there..... Some guy was going buckwild with it on Oman last nite.
