Kicked - Admin decision

I was kicked from Server #1 this evening at 9:30 (during the great Karkand battle, no less) and I received the following message: kicked by punkbuster - admin decision. I don't know if this was some PB glitch or is this the message one receives when they have been kicked by the admin to make room for a SM?

If it is the latter then I just wanted to let whoever was Admin this evening know for future reference that I am in fact a SM. I have only been around for a month or so, so I understand if they did not recognize me as such. Many thanks.

By the way, I am unable to contact an admin via Teamspeak because of an apparent known issue with Soundblaster audio cards--when I press to speak all that comes across is static.

It's quite possible that someone didn't recognize your name when making room for another SM.

I wasn't aware of any issues with SB cards and TS, but I know that the static problem happens to me occasionally and making sure I have the right codec loaded and disconnecting and reconnecting to the TS server fixes it.

I suspected as much.

Here is what I pulled from the TS manual:

"Q: (Windows) My Soundblaster live/audigy makes a lot of static noise!

A: This occurs mostly on Windows XP. I still can't believe that creative always manages to write such bad drivers. In the forums people switching to project kx drivers seem to have solved the problem. Check this page for more info."

It also states that the program automatically loads the proper codec for the channel you are using.

So, maybe I will go on TS sometime soon and see if anyone can hear me. Thanks for the tip.

Froggie,

Are you registered on the teamspeak server?

I dont know, but they be the only way the admins have to know other than if they recognize your name to determine in the heat of battle if your SM or not....

or i could be totally wrong.

Re: Kicked - Admin decision

I know this might sound a bit patronising, but have you tried to reinstall teamspeak? I'm only asking because I had used ts2 for a long time with absolutely no problems. First time I connect to the TG teamspeak server it didn't work. Codec problems (even though I had the codec installed, and had used it before).

A simple uninstall and reinstall did the trick. Not saying it is a definite solution, but the static could be because of poor codec use, so it might help. For a 3 minute job might be worth the effort just in case.

I am not registered on the teamspeak server because I could never successfully raise an admin while I was logged on. The only time I received a response I was told that all they heard was static. These attempts, however, were only made during the day when the teamspseak server was thinly populated.

I gave it another try last evening when there were a number of people on and what do ya' know, it worked. So, I will be sure to register on the server and utilize teamspeak in the future. Thanks for the replies and tips.

There is a fix for that static issue with the Soundblaster cards.

Fire up TeamSpeak, Go to Settings >> Options.

In the "Sound Driver" box, try changing the setting between Wave and Direct Sound. One or the other seems to make the problem go away. I just forget which one. :-)
