I took my nickname from a Robert Zelazny short story titled, "The Stainless Steel Leech." Back in the days of BBSs and door games, we were limited to eight characters for names, so I shortened it to "TheLeech." Just "Leech" will suffice for VOIP though, the article isn't necessary. :-)

Hey really? My wife worked in the game journalism world as well, as a matter of fact, I believe she was one of the first if not the first full on female editor. She worked for EGM (but she is a PC gamer at heart ), and did CNN all the time as well.

Relatively new to BF2 -- just picked it up a couple days ago -- but I'm really looking forward to the coop gameplay. I'm a shift worker, so there's no real pattern to when I'm online, but you can bet on finding me there at least a couple hours a day.

Cheers

EGM is a good book. "Shoe" is good people. My memory isnt what it used to be, but I believe Zoe Flower was the first female gaming journalist. CGW and PC Gamer both had female production editors in the 80's, but they werent gamers. It would be kinda cool if your wife predates Zoe.

Your right about Zoe being the first in there, I guess I never thought of her as a full on gaming journalist, more freelance in to more things than gaming but technically you are correct. Now I think she runs that exteme sports show or something. Either way the "old" ziff crew were fun to hang with time to time, actually they just had a mini renioun of sorts here. Oh and, production editors who don't game don't count!
