Rusted_Angel, where I got the handle from. The title track is also kick@$$. Best Darkane handle I could think of, all the other ones were like 5-6 syllables plus and didn't abbreviate well.

PS - apparently according to my girlfriend Sarah the use of angel in a handle is fairly androgenous. I listen to metal music so it should be pretty obvious that I'm a guy.

i will look them up and give them a listen..i play guitar/keyboards..been in every kind of band there is..hell..i will even play country music if it pays enough..!

my "thing" is the Dream Theater, Queensryche, Pagan's Mind, Symphony X, Adagio...that kind of stuff..my fav is Tony MAcalpine though...he rocks..!

I totally dug Train of Thought, have yet to try to get into any other DT though. Haven't really listened to any of the other stuff, is it all prog mostly? You ever try Opeth, they're prog in a really interesting death metal way.....no seriously.

i am not really "into" that stuff where the singers sound like they are choking on a sock...most of it i have heard had competent sounding playing, but the vocal "stuff" just had me listening to something else...


heavy is not the issue..i love heavy..but that vocal style is just not my thing...

i still cannot imagine how those guys are even able to speak after a few months of that!


the older DT..Images & Words and that stuff is the best IMHO...but i dig them no matter what, they are without a doubt, the best live musicians i have ever seen...and i have seen "a lot"...their work ethic must be unGodly..!

I guess I should explain, Opeth uses both clean and death vocals, and the death is very well enunciated and understandable. I'm just trying to say it's worth checking out. If not, you can still check out Damnation, which is an album they did recently which is all soft. My mom likes it, so you know it's ok. Man, I wish I could sing/scream death or hardcore style. I used to be of your persuasion, but it grows on you.

Seriously, I can aim filesend you Damnation if you want. I also highly recommend Blackwater Park, make sure you get the bonus CD version with Still Day Beneath the Sun.
